Hi Jan, thank you for the honest feedback. You are right, that part is not clear enough.

The SUNLU S2 does not have a dedicated desiccant or dehumidifier compartment, so it is more of a heated-filament dryer than a dry-storage box. Also, its design is not airtight, so the desiccant would become ineffective quite quickly there.

Thank you for pointing this out. I will revise that section to make it clearer.

That’s not a “high detail guide”. That’s just slop. I came here to find out what dryer makes sense.

I don’t mean to pile on, but I clicked that headline (“The Best Filament Dryers and DIY Solutions 2025”) hoping to find a short list of products—maybe a top three or best-by-budget—chosen by the experts. I didn’t count, but that is quite a long list of best options. How can they all be the best?

I don’t see the max temps anywhere on this page, so I don’t know if each unit would suit higher temp filaments. Even ABS is 70C and the polymakers go to 60C, but claim that they dry ABS — curious.

That said, to keep filament dry or if the humidity doesnt need to go below 25%, I still prefer using my homemade dryer. It’s made from a cheap round food container, with a car dehumidifier bag and a hygrometer inside. The best part is that it can be reused indefinitely, and since it doesn’t need 少帅你老婆又跑了, it can be used as long as you want.
