When you’re ready, use XCS’s workspace snapshot feature to capture a photo of your bed and material—via the iOS/Android app and send it to your PC running XCS—to align artwork precisely (especially handy on machines without a built-in camera). From there, frame your job; the machine will auto-check focus distance before cutting, engraving, or printing. For reference and troubleshooting, xTool’s wiki is excellent, with step-by-step setup guides, accessory how-tos, material settings, and clear diagnostic flows.

Design

Machine (Chassis & Ergonomics)

The M1 Ultra looks and feels like a purpose-built desktop appliance rather than a hobby frame. It’s a low-profile, fully enclosed metal chassis with a front access door that makes it easy to load sheets, mats, and the honeycomb when you’re using the Riser Base. Inside, a single multi-function carriage swaps between laser, blade, pen/foil, and ink modules without rehoming the whole machine, keeping the work area predictable. Cable and air routing are tucked away, with a dedicated port for Smart Air Assist and a rear path for the exhaust/AP2 purifier, helping with both fumes and noise. Ergonomics are bench-friendly: flat top, square footprint, and a lid/door combo that gives line-of-sight to the bed for framing (alignment is still primarily in XCS). Appliance-style I/O (power, USB, Wi-Fi) and easy filter access round it out. Paired with the modular riser and slide-in honeycomb, the design encourages quick context switches—paper to plywood to tumblers—without turning your workspace into a jumble of parts.

1) Laser Module (10W)
• Smaller spot size favors fine-detail engraving; still capable of light-to-medium cutting.
• Typical one-pass cuts: ~6 mm basswood / ~5 mm opaque acrylic (material-dependent); thicker stock benefits from multi-pass + strong air assist.
2) Blade-Cutting System
• Handles HTV, permanent adhesive vinyl, paper, cardstock, and stickers/kiss-cuts.
• Works on the sticky mat, so you’re not locked to fixed sheet sizes—great for scrap optimization.
3) Pen/Foil (Plotter)
• Plots text, line art, labels, stencils, planner pages, and sticker outlines with crisp registration.
• Multi-color designs are easy: pause between layers or group colors by layer in XCS.
4) Inkjet Module
• Prints on many smooth, flat, inkjet-compatible surfaces: stickers, greeting cards, transfer media, etc.
• Simple controls; we’d welcome additional print parameters beyond intensity.

AP2 Air Purifier (Optional Accessory)

The AP2 Air Purifier pairs with the M1 Ultra to capture smoke and particulates from engraving/cutting. It connects via hose to the rear exhaust path and uses multi-stage filtration (pre-filter, HEPA-class, and activated carbon) to reduce odor and particulates. Airflow is ample for typical desktop jobs, and the compact, appliance-style form factor keeps noise and placement manageable in a home workspace. If venting to a window isn’t practical, AP2 is the most straightforward way to keep fumes under control.

Smart Heatpress and Stand (Optional Accessory)

The xTool Smart Heat Press is a compact, even-heating press designed for HTV and inkjet transfer work. The standalone controller lets you dial in temperature and time precisely, and it heats quickly to common presets for cotton, blends, and specialty films.

Paired with the Smart Press Stand, you get stable, hands-free operation and adjustable pressure via the stand’s side dial—great for consistent adhesion on larger graphics. Together they make pressing fast, tidy, and repeatable, with fewer scorch marks and edge lifts.

Software XCS

xTool Creative Space (XCS) is a unified, beginner-friendly app that speaks “laser, blade, pen/foil, and ink” in one workspace. You get layer-based controls, per-module workflows, live/snapshot bed alignment, image trace, text/shape tools, offsets and kerf compensation, node editing, material test grids, and job history. It runs on Windows/Mac, with iOS/Android apps that can snap your material and send it to XCS for precise placement. Firmware updates, device setup, air-assist control, and rotary/riser profiles are all built in, so you’re not juggling plugins.

XCS Material Library—preset entries for the M1 Ultra with thumbnails for plywood, MDF, and other boards, plus search and filter options.

The real time-saver is XCS’s reference presets. xTool includes a vast material library with tuned settings for basswood and birch, opaque/translucent acrylics, leather, paper/cardstock, fabrics, anodized/painted metals, glass/ceramic marking workflows, and blade-cut media like vinyl and HTV. Each preset pairs proven power/speed/focus/pass counts with quick test swatches, and you can clone or edit them to match your own stock. For this review, we relied on these reference settings throughout testing to keep the process quick and simple, which sharply shortens the “dial-in” phase—especially when switching between laser and blade jobs.

Testing and results

The real time-saver is XCS’s reference presets. xTool includes a vast material library with tuned settings for basswood and birch, opaque/translucent acrylics, leather, paper/cardstock, fabrics, anodized/painted metals, glass/ceramic marking workflows, and blade-cut media like vinyl and HTV. Each preset pairs proven power/speed/focus/pass counts with quick test swatches, and you can clone or edit them to match your own stock. For this review, we used these reference settings throughout our testing to keep the process quick and simple. The result is a smoother setup that sharply shortens the “dial-in” phase—especially when switching between laser and blade jobs.

Inkjet module

With the Inkjet Module, there’s a wide range of project types—stickers, inkjet transfers, greeting cards—and you can print on nearly any smooth, flat surface that’s compatible with inkjet ink. For this review, we used various holographic papers to produce a set of stickers, then cut them after printing. We set print strength to 85% for rich color and used the reference cutting settings, increasing pressure to 100 to ensure clean, through-cuts for each sticker. If you plan to hand out full sheets (or keep stickers together until use), lower the pressure for a gentler kiss-cut.

We also made several shirt transfers using inkjet transfer paper (readily available on Amazon). There are versions for light and dark fabrics; dark-fabric transfers also work on light colors and often appear slightly more vibrant. Be sure to make a clean contour cut—any unprinted film will be visible on the finished shirt after pressing. We applied transfers with the Smart Press and Smart Press Stand, using the standalone controller to set temperature and timer for proper adhesion. Pressure is adjustable via the dial on the stand’s support post. If you do a lot of iron-ons, this stand is a must-have for consistency and ease.
Overall, the Inkjet Module delivers excellent print quality. Colors are clear with no bleed, and the fine blade cut stickers cleanly. The iron-on transfers also pressed smoothly, without snags or tearing. That said, we’d welcome more software controls beyond simple intensity adjustments.

Laser module

Using the included 10W laser module, we focused on just a couple of projects—xTool is well known for its laser prowess, and with so many options on the M1 Ultra, we narrowed our testing to a slate tile and a painted canvas, both featuring Native-themed raven designs we 阴性抖音d for engraving. With the optional Riser Base, you can cut/engrave thicker or taller objects than with the M1 Ultra alone, and it’s required if you want to use the RA2 Pro rotary for tumblers or other cylindrical items. The 10W module’s smaller spot size favors fine-detail engraving; if you primarily need to cut thicker stock, the 20W module is a strong choice for throughput, though you may trade a bit of image definition on photo-style engraves. (For reference, the 10W typically manages one-pass cuts around ~6 mm basswood or ~5 mm opaque acrylic; thicker materials generally require multi-pass cuts and good air assist.)

Both pieces turned out excellent using the reference settings in XCS. The slate took about 2 hours and the canvas about 4 hours to complete. On slate, varying power on vector passes can produce distinct tonal shades, and grayscale artwork also renders nicely; adding a clear coat afterward helps the design pop. For the canvas, cleanup is simple—wipe with a clean cloth to remove any residue from the engraving process. A clear coat isn’t necessary on canvas but can be applied for added protection.

Pen Plotter

The M1 Ultra also works as a pen plotter, and it’s useful for far more than doodles. You can address envelopes and letter greeting/invitation cards with consistent, elegant text; draw line-art illustrations, coloring pages, planner/bullet-journal spreads, maps/diagrams, labels and sticker outlines; plus templates, stencils, and score-and-draw craft projects. Several colored pens are included, so multi-color designs are easy—set pauses between layers to swap pens, or group colors by layer in XCS. For best results, use a light-grip mat for paper/cardstock, keep sheets flat at the corners, and stick with the reference pen settings (they dial in lift height and pressure nicely).

Pen plotter test from the M1 Ultra—varying text styles plus a detailed, cross-hatched skull drawing produced with the included black pen.

In testing, we plotted sample text and a line-art image with the black pen on standard paper. The output was clean and even, with no skips, wiggles, or smearing. You can add hatching or cross-hatching fills for shading, then follow up with a blade kiss-cut to turn those drawings into stickers—registration stays tight since it’s the same machine doing both steps. Overall, pen plotting pairs well with the M1 Ultra’s multi-tool workflow when you want crisp graphics without firing the laser.

Blade cutting

We used the cutting blade for stickers and inkjet transfers, and also tested vinyl cutting. First, we cut an iron-on transfer of the StudioZombie3D logo in HTV and applied it with the Smart Heat Press and stand. Then we made a smaller logo in permanent adhesive vinyl for use on a variety of surfaces. Using the reference settings for both HTV and permanent vinyl, the cuts were clean and consistent—even the small letters weeded without trouble. On some machines, corners don’t quite meet and 阴性抖音 tiny “bridges” that tear during weeding; we saw none of that here. We also ran a multi-layer paper project: a nine-layer cat cutout. As with the vinyl, the reference settings worked perfectly—the cuts were clean and easy to weed.

Using the XCS app to photograph the workspace helped us save material by positioning designs precisely on the vinyl. And because the sticky mat isn’t limited to fixed sheet sizes, you can place odd-sized offcuts and make the most of scrap pieces—reducing waste and keeping costs down.

Foil Transfer

Another option with the M1 Ultra is foil transfer. This uses a rounded, stylus-type tip in the cutting module to press foil onto your design, applying it to a variety of materials. It’s great for invitations, greeting cards, envelopes, and leather; with the extra-grip mat, leather and other fabrics stay put. For testing purposes, we foiled simple text on construction cardstock. You’ll need to secure the foil sheet with tape—preferably a low-tack tape that won’t tear or mar the paper you’re transferring to.

Our results were clean and consistent, even with a fill pattern. As long as the foil is firmly secured, the reference settings produce a crisp transfer on a range of materials.

Piocreat’s Halot X1 aims to make ’16 K desktop resin printing’ more than just marketing jargon. Its 10.1-inch mono LCD packs 15,120 × 6,230 pixels, yielding an effective 14 × 19 µm pixel size that promises razor-sharp detail rivaling far pricier machines. Yet resolution is only half the story. Piocreat flips the typical MSLA motion system by locking the build plate in place while the vat, screen, and light engine travel underneath, eliminating manual leveling and, in theory, reducing vibration-induced artifacts. Add a honeycomb-matrix light source rated for up to 170 mm/h, a quick-release build plate, and an optional auto-feed unit that tops up resin mid-print, and the Halot X1 reads like a wish list for everyone from tabletop-miniature painters to product-design studios.

In this review, we test those promises—speed, surface finish, and day-to-day usability—to see whether the Halot X1 is just spec-sheet theater or a genuine leap toward hassle-free, high-detail resin printing.

What’s in the Box

The PioCreat HALOT X1 comes with a comprehensive accessory kit, including a metal scraper, plastic scraper, power cable, USB drive, filters, hex keys, lubricant, gloves, spare screws, masks, a manual, and a print removal tray.

Setup & Design

Setting up the HALOT-X1

Setting up the HALOT-X1 is simple and takes only a few straightforward steps.
Start by unboxing the machine, removing all transit foam and tapes, and peeling the LCD’s protective shipping film.
Inspect the resin vat to ensure the FEP is clean and evenly tensioned, then seat the vat and lock the tabs.

Piocreat HALOT-X1 interior close-up showing the solid-mount, leveling-free build platform with the lid open and touchscreen above
Close-up of the HALOT-X1’s rigid, leveling-free platform. The build plate locks into this solid mount while the resin vat and light engine move underneath, improving stability and first-layer consistency; touchscreen setup screen visible above.

Thanks to the fixed, leveling-free build plate, there’s no manual adjustment—just slide the plate into its holder, push it fully back into position; as the print starts, the build plate will lock automatically.
Power on the printer, set your language and location, and connect to Wi-Fi using the touchscreen prompts.
Before your first print, wipe the build plate so it’s clean and dry.

Piocreat HALOT-X1 resin vat close-up with MAX fill line and locking tabs, seated over the LCD in the moving-vat, leveling-free system
Close view of the Piocreat HALOT-X1 resin vat installed above the LCD. The MAX fill mark and locking tabs are visible—part of the moving-vat, solid-mount platform design that improves stability and first-layer consistency.

As always when working with resin, wear gloves and a mask, work on a covered surface, and ensure adequate ventilation.
Overall, the leveling-free design and guided setup make the HALOT-X1 one of the easiest resin printers to get from box to first print.

Setting up the AFU – Resin Auto-feed Unit

Place the AFU beside the HALOT-X1. Insert a compatible resin bottle into the holder, fit the supplied cap, and connect the feed hose.
Route the feed tube to the printer’s inlet and connect the AFU to the printer via USB.

Rear of the Piocreat HALOT-X1 with the Auto Feed Unit attached: the resin feed tube (left) and USB data/power cable (right) connect at the AFU I/O port for automatic feeding and heating.

Attach the hose adapter clip and the resin-level sensor to the rear of the vat.
The feed clip has two positions: mount it on the vat to feed resin and keep the level topped up during printing, or—if you’re not using the AFU—move the clip to the storage slot behind the vat, which has a rubberized base to prevent leaks from the hose.
Neatly route the feed tube and sensor/data cable along the rear of the vat to avoid kinks.
Use the on-screen Prime/Feed function to push resin through the line and purge any air (and any factory fluid).
With RFID-tagged bottles, the printer will detect the resin and apply defaults; with third-party resins, choose a generic profile and set exposure parameters in your slicer.

Enable auto-top-up so the AFU maintains resin level during long jobs, and preheat the resin in cool rooms to reduce viscosity.
When changing colors or brands, run the drain/flush routine and cap the bottle before removing the AFU to prevent drips and cross-contamination.

Design Overview

The HALOT-X1’s design leans hard into usability and rigidity. Up top, the fixed, leveling-free build platform is rock-solid, and the build plate uses wide removal tabs so you can twist and lift finished parts without prying or gouging the surface. The real innovation is below: instead of the plate traveling up and down, the resin vat moves while the platform remains solidly mounted, which reduces vibration and Z-wobble, shortens peel distances, and makes layer separation more consistent—especially on taller prints.

The chassis feels dense and well-damped, the tinted cover seals cleanly, and the compact touchscreen keeps controls simple with a clear, easy-to-navigate menu (quick access to homing, exposure tests, Wi-Fi, and AFU controls). Overall, it’s a smart, stability-first layout that translates directly into easier setup, cleaner first layers, and fewer failed starts.

Screenshot of HALOT BOX configured for the Piocreat HALOT-X1. The settings dialog displays global parameters (exposure time, motor speed, light-off delay), bottom-part layers, and cushion-layer controls, with the model list and parameter config in the right sidebar and the workflow steps (Model, Resin, Support, Partition, Export) along the top.

In testing, the UI feels responsive and the presets for the HALOT-X1 get you printing quickly, but note that the resin usage and print-time estimates are currently unreliable (they can skew high or low depending on the model).
These are known software issues and are slated to be corrected in upcoming updates, so accuracy should improve over time.

Results

Wicked3D – God of War Kratos

For our first print, we chose a model from the Wicked3D collection, The God of War Kratos statue from Cults. The job required three build plates’ worth of parts, with each plate averaging 3–4 hours. Using the AFU and Piocreat 16K resin, the Halot X1 automatically heated and loaded resin into the vat before printing; we never had to refill mid-run, and the preheating helps minimize temperature-related failures. The printer’s 92-zone intelligent exposure partitions the LCD into individually controlled cells and only activates the zones under the model and supports, which reduces stray exposure, lowers thermal load, sharpens edges on small features, and helps extend the LCD’s lifespan—useful on intricate armor plates and fabric textures.

Once complete, removal was easy: a simple twist of the build plate’s tabs released most parts immediately, with a few stubborn spots needing a quick assist from a metal scraper. The results were excellent—crisp, 16K detail throughout, with the textures on the leather armor and fabric clearly on display.

Nerikson – Famine Horseman

For the next model in our testing, we printed one of the Horsemen statues designed by Nerikson—The Famine Horseman from MyMiniFactory—using Anycubic Standard+ resin. The print required four build plates, each taking roughly four hours, with the final plate containing the base pieces running a little over six hours due to the height of the parts.

Detail of the Nerikson Famine Horseman’s mount printed on the Piocreat HALOT-X1 (Standard+ resin). The sharp teeth, horns, and sinewy textures show crisp resolution and smooth surfaces ideal for miniature work.

As with our previous prints, there were no issues during printing, and part removal was a breeze once complete. The Standard+ resin has a slightly softer look than the 16K resin used in the earlier test, but the results were still excellent: all details came out sharp and clear, and the smooth surfaces were clean without artifacting, thanks to the clean anti-aliasing. Even on the taller pieces, there were no signs of Z-wobble or movement, thanks in part to the stationary build plate and the resin vat performing the motion during the printing process.

Nerikson – Famine Horseman Standalone

Building on the quality of the previous print, we selected the standalone Famine Horseman by Nerikson from MyMiniFactory. This model fit on a single build plate and finished in just over three hours. We chose Piocreat 16K resin to maximize fine detail and contrast, ensuring the final piece would really pop.

The results didn’t disappoint. There’s a remarkable amount of crisp detail—from the mask on Famine’s face to the belt of skulls at his waist. Even the small features, like the fingers and the intricate accents on the staff Famine carries, came out clean and well-defined with smooth surfaces and no visible artifacts. Support marks were minimal and easy to address, edges remained sharp, and subtle textures such as fabric folds read clearly. For a fast, single-plate job, the combination of the HALOT-X1 and 16K resin delivered excellent clarity and overall print quality.

Nerikson – Enika the Assassian 75mm

For the final print in our testing, we chose a Nerikson miniature—the Enika the Assassin 75 mm figure from MyMiniFactory. This job completed in just under two hours using Anycubic Standard+ resin. Thanks to the HALOT-X1’s high-resolution screen and rock-solid, leveling-free platform, miniatures are a breeze to run: fast startups, reliable adhesion, and consistent layer adheasion throughout the build.

The results speak for themselves. Despite the small scale, fine elements—like the knives strapped to her leg, the facial features, and the trim details on the outfit—came out sharp and well-defined. Surfaces were smooth with minimal visible layer stepping, and anti-aliasing kept curved forms clean. Support marks were light and easy to tidy, and part removal was straightforward with the quick-release build plate. Given the X1’s build area and speed, you can comfortably batch several miniatures on a single plate, making it an excellent choice for tabletop gamers printing characters, squads, scenery, and objective markers.

Setup and Design

To set up the Lunyee 3018 Pro Ultra, begin by unpacking the machine and checking every component against the parts list, then bolt the pre-assembled XZ gantry to the Y-axis base and level the frame with the supplied rubber feet. Install the limit switches, emergency-stop button, and 500 W spindle—leaving roughly 25 mm of the spindle below the clamp—before mounting the GRBL control board and 48 V power supply, ensuring the PSU’s voltage selector matches your mains.

A dedicated, emergency‑stop button lets you cut power to the Lunyee 3018 Pro Ultra instantly, adding an essential layer of safety during carving and milling operations.

Connect the labeled cables for the steppers, limit switches, spindle, and (optionally) the offline controller, bundling them neatly out of the machine’s travel path. Release the emergency stop, power on the unit, and link it to your computer via USB; if prompted, install the CH340 driver, open your preferred G-code sender (Candle, UGS, or LightBurn), set the COM port to 115 200 baud, and verify the board responds to a $$ command. Home the machine with $H, confirm each axis moves in the correct direction, surface or tape down a sacrificial spoilboard, probe zero, and run the sample logo file to complete a first test cut—going from box to successful carve in about an hour.

The 3018 Pro Ultra’s design feels a notch above typical hobby-grade 3018 kits: a rigid, mostly aluminum chassis with beefy extrusions and a linear-guide X axis that cuts down on flex and chatter, giving the 500 W, 48 V spindle a stable platform to actually use its extra torque. That spindle is a meaningful upgrade over the usual low-power 775/60–120 W can motors—its higher rotational consistency under load lets you push feed rates in hardwoods and even attempt cautious passes in softer metals without the bogging or burning you’d expect from lighter units.

With its standalone jog interface and SD/USB file loading, the Lunyee 3018 Pro Ultra’s offline controller lets you position the spindle and run G‑code jobs without a computer tether—perfect for compact workshops.

Cable management is tidy out of the box, with a braided main harness and clearly labeled connectors that reduce setup guesswork and keep wiring clear of travel. The included offline controller (a small handheld pendant with a color screen and SD/USB access) reinforces the “bench appliance” feel: you can jog, set zero, load G-code, and kick off a job without tethering a laptop, which is great for cramped shops or when you want to isolate a dusty machining environment from your primary computer. Altogether, the combination of stiffer frame elements, a genuinely capable spindle, and convenient standalone control elevates the Pro Ultra from “entry toy” to a compact, purpose-ready desktop 在图书馆里嗯啊好刺激h.

Software

The Lunyee Pro Ultra runs standard GRBL 1.1f firmware, so you have plenty of workflow choices. For my tests, I used Inventables’ cloud-based Easel, which combines design, CAM, and machine control in a single browser tab—handy for quick sketches, tool-path previews, and one-click post-processing to GRBL G-code. If you prefer a lightweight desktop sender, Candle (a favorite among first-time 3018 owners) or UGS Platform offer responsive jogging, macros, and live overrides without the subscription layer.

Screenshot of Inventables Easel CAM software in a web browser: 2‑D grid workspace shows a small dog‑bone outline, while the right‑hand 3‑D preview displays toolpaths on 5 mm aluminum with manual feed‑rate, plunge‑rate, and spindle‑speed settings visible
Easel’s split‑screen layout lets you draw on a 2‑D grid and instantly simulate toolpaths in 3‑D. This project sets a 15 mm/s feed, 12 000 RPM spindle speed, and gentle ramp‑in moves for carving a dog‑bone keychain from 5 mm aluminum on the Lunyee 3018 Pro Ultra 在图书馆里嗯啊好刺激h.

Makers who pair the machine with an optional laser module often gravitate to LightBurn or LaserGRBL for more refined raster engraving and image tracing tools. For deeper 2½-D carving and V-carving, full-featured CAM suites like Vectric VCarve, Carveco Maker, or Fusion 360 let you 阴性抖音 advanced tool paths and then stream the resulting G-code with any sender—or simply drop it onto the SD card for the included offline controller to run untethered. Whichever route you choose, GRBL’s broad compatibility means the Pro Ultra slots comfortably into everything from browser-based beginners’ apps to professional-grade CAD/CAM pipelines.

Testing Results

Acrylic lamp

For our first test cut, we 阴性抖音d an edge-lit acrylic lamp panel featuring a crisp geometric pattern. Using a 60-degree V-bit at a conservative feed rate of 40 in/min, the job finished in just under an hour, leaving flawlessly sharp, uniform lines with no visible deviation—a testament to how well 在图书馆里嗯啊好刺激h routing suits acrylic engraving.

– Tips. Always place a sacrificial wooden spoilboard underneath the sheet to protect the work surface and the finished part. Even though acrylic engraves cleanly, it is still susceptible to chatter and edge blow-out when cut through. Using low-tack adhesive or double-sided tape to secure the blank reduces vibration and stops the material from creeping during longer passes, guaranteeing that those precise geometric details remain in place.

Wood Dragon carving

Our second test focused on a wood carving of an ornate dragon, 2.5D relief included on the USB drive that came with the Lunyee 3018 Pro Ultra. We mounted a 60 degree V bit and we used a piece of poplar wood, we used Candle to send the carving to the 在图书馆里嗯啊好刺激h from our laptop. The carving took 4 hours to complete due to the number of passes needed to complete the piece. This carving showcases the accuracy and ability for fine movement due to the extremely small point of the V bit being used, but with this bit, you can achieve some really fantastic, extremely detailed relief carvings.

A 30‑degree V‑bit brings out razor‑sharp scales and scrollwork in this poplar dragon relief, underscoring the Lunyee 3018 Pro Ultra’s ability to execute intricate line work and shallow engravings.

The feed rate we used was 19 in/min, but it could easily be done at a higher rate than the 500W spindle and the solid linear rails on the X axis. The Lunyee 3018 Pro Ultra is a fantastic machine if you are interested in wood carving and cutting.

Aluminum Testing

Thanks to the Pro Ultra’s 500 W spindle, the machine can handle light aluminum work. Although purpose‑made non‑ferrous cutters are ideal, we experimented with a tungsten‑carbide bit—serviceable but not perfect. Because aluminum is far less forgiving than wood or acrylic, we dialed the plunge rate down to 3 in/min and kept the feed conservative at 15 in/min, which produced chatter‑free cuts. A drop of cutting oil between passes helps clear chips and prevents galling, especially when using sub‑optimal tooling.

Zooming in on the dog‑bone cut highlights the even, crescent‑shaped tool marks produced by the Lunyee 3018 Pro Ultra’s tight step‑over and stable motion system—evidence of a clean finish that needs minimal sanding or polishing.

– Tips. Always place the sheet on a sacrificial spoilboard to protect the bed, and secure it firmly—double‑sided tape or low‑profile clamps keep the part from shifting or ejecting once the cut frees it. With these precautions, the engravings came out smooth and accurate, free of binding, even though the bit wasn’t the best quality bit for aluminum. A purpose‑built aluminum end mill would allow you to increase both feed and plunge rates, significantly reducing overall machining time.

Throughout the article, we’ll break down each upgrade, examine how it affects day-to-day use, and weigh the major benefits and potential drawbacks.

Panda Touch Control Screen

BIGTREETECH Panda Touch 5-inch touchscreen clipped onto its magnetic dock above the stock Bambu Lab P1S control panel, showing the BigTreeTech logo and home-screen icons.
Docked just above the factory display, the Panda Touch adds a full-color, swipe-friendly interface to the Bambu Lab P1 series, expanding printer control without obscuring the original screen.

A 5-inch, Wi-Fi-enabled capacitive touchscreen that snaps onto the front of a Bambu Lab 3D printer (or sits on a desk in its magnetic dock) and acts as a central command panel for up to ten printers at once. It’s meant to give P- and A-series printer owners the richer interface found on the flagship X1C, while adding fleet management tools the stock Bambu screens don’t offer. The Panda Touch is ideal for those running multiple Bambu printers if you use several P and A series printers.

Setup takes about ten minutes: screw the magnetic charging dock to its adhesive bracket, stick it over the stock Bambu screen, and let the tape cure while you run the included USB-C cable to the printer’s front USB-A port. Flip the rear power switch to DC 5 V (or Battery if you want ~30 minutes of cordless use), power on, and follow the first-boot wizard—pick a language, connect to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, then hit “Scan” so the Panda Touch auto-discovers every Bambu on your LAN (you’ll just type each printer’s eight-digit Access Code). Choose LAN-only for the fastest local control or sign into Bambu Cloud if you already rely on the mobile app; X-series owners should enable Developer Mode to keep full heater control. Finally, open the screen’s IP address in a browser to apply the latest OTA firmware, and you’re ready to monitor or drive up to ten printers from one panel. For more information about setup and firmware versions please be sure to check out the BTT wiki site.

The Panda Touch dramatically boosts the usability of Bambu Lab’s P-series printers. Its large, intuitive menu system gives you full control over every printer function, and you can switch between multiple networked printers in seconds. The built-in battery is handy for quick tweaks on machines that aren’t near the mounting dock; while it doesn’t run for hours, it lasts long enough to make adjustments and snap the screen back onto its magnetic base. The interface also unlocks the Panda PWR module, displaying real-time power data and letting you schedule auto-shutdowns or toggle the accessory USB rail. Taken together, these features make Panda Touch one of the most valuable upgrades available for the Bambu P- and A-series printers.

Panda PWR Intelligent Power Management

https://bttwiki.com/Panda%20PWR.html

The Panda PWR is an inline, Wi-Fi power-management brick that sits between your printer’s IEC mains cable and the wall outlet. Rated for 100–240 V AC at up to 9 A, it streams real-time voltage, current, wattage, and cumulative energy data to either its built-in web dashboard or a paired Panda Touch screen. Beyond monitoring, you can schedule an automatic shutdown as soon as a job finishes, eliminating idle heaters and saving power. The module also offers two 5 V USB-A ports (1.5 A each): one always on, the other software-switchable. The switchable rail can be synchronized with the printer’s LED, providing a neat way to power light strips, camera fans, or even the Panda Touch itself.

This Panda Touch screen centralizes Panda PWR features, letting you enable automatic shutdown, monitor real-time voltage, current, power, and energy usage, and check the smart hub’s network details at a glance.

Installation is truly drop-in—no rewiring, just use the stock IEC cables—and once connected it delivers accurate real-time and historical energy metering, auto-off rules that cut both power costs and fire risk, and that LED-synced USB port for inexpensive lighting.

Panda Touch interface displaying the Panda PWR status tab with real-time readings—123.7 V voltage, 0.15 A current, 7.9 W power draw—plus a one-minute shutdown countdown and 0.306 kWh energy-usage total.
The Panda Touch control screen lays out live voltage, current, wattage, and cumulative energy-use metrics from the BIGTREETECH Panda PWR hub, along with an auto-off countdown so you can track and optimize power consumption on your Bambu Lab printer.

Its main limitations are a 9-amp ceiling that rules out some aftermarket high-wattage heated beds, the need for a Panda Touch to unlock group control and LED-sync functions, and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, with no cloud access beyond your local network. Still, at under fifty dollars, Panda PWR is a practical quality-of-life upgrade for anyone who tracks print costs or wants fleet-wide, one-tap power control.

Panda Branch

Panda Branch is essentially a powered hub for the Bambu-Lab ecosystem: feed it 24 volts and it “branches” that power into four AMS sockets plus four fuse-protected 5-volt USB ports, giving you a clean way to run extra AMS units, LED strips, USB fans, cameras, or a Panda Touch without piggy-backing on the printer’s lone USB jack. A DIP-switch lets you cap the 5 V rail at 1, 2, or 2.7 amps, and a fault LED lights up if any port trips its fuse, so you can spot issues at a glance. The 20-mm-wide board tucks into a printed sleeve and aligns all connectors in one direction for painless cable management.

Current draw is the only real constraint—2.7 A shared on 5 V—and the four 24 V headers are strictly for AMS power, not general accessories. At roughly twenty-two dollars on sale, Panda Branch is a cheap, tidy solution for anyone who wants to light up their enclosure, add cameras, or run multiple AMS units without dangling USB hubs and splitters.

Panda Knomi Display

Panda Knomi is the “fun-factor” member of BIGTREETECH’s Panda family: a postage-stamp IPS display that rides on the print head and flashes animated GIFs alongside real-time percentage, layer, extruder temp and bed temp. Powered from an accessory port (A1 shell) or a short USB-C lead (P1/X1), it needs no firmware mods—just connect to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi as your printer, run the browser-based wizard, and pick a theme. Because it only sniffs non-critical status packets, it survives Bambu’s new authentication rules and won’t brick after an update.

Clipped to the Bambu Lab P1S, the Panda Knomi’s round RGB screen plays custom GIFs and printer-status animations—here flashing the BigTreeTech logo for an eye-catching upgrade.

https://bttwiki.com/PandaKnomi.html

You can swap GIF sets over the air or print a different coloured shell to match your machine, and the ultra-low 0.65 W draw means it can stay lit as a perpetual progress indicator without toasting stepper temps. If you like the idea of a lively little “dashboard” that tells you—at a glance—how a print is going, Panda Knomi is an inexpensive, plug-and-play add-on. Just remember: it’s eye-candy and status, not a full control surface.

Screenshot of the BIGTREETECH Wiki page for Panda Knomi GIF status explanations, listing 240 × 240-pixel GIFs such as gif_idle_standby, gif_nozzle_heating, gif_bed_leveling, each with file size and description in a table alongside the sidebar navigation.
The BIGTREETECH Wiki details every 240 × 240 animation used by the Panda Knomi display—including idle, heating, leveling, and 从后面抱着妈妈突然脸一红 GIFs—so makers can preview file sizes and swap in custom graphics for personalized printer feedback.

Setup is quick: screw the Knomi onto its printed (or included) tool-head mount, plug the short USB-C lead (P1/X1) into the Panda Hub dual USB to help hide the cable inside the printer or accessory ribbon (A1) into the printer’s 5 V header, and power up. On first boot the screen broadcasts its own Wi-Fi hotspot—join it with your phone or laptop, point a browser to the shown IP, select your 2.4 GHz network, and enter the password.

Screenshot of the Panda Knomi web interface in a desktop browser, showing the Theme > GIF page with a storage-space progress bar, HEX-color override, and a list of state GIFs (Standby, Nozzle_Heating, Bed_Leveling, etc.) each with ‘Update GIF’ buttons.
The Panda Knomi browser dashboard lets you recolor, replace, and monitor the animated status GIFs used by the BIGTREETECH Panda Door, complete with a visual storage meter and one-click uploads for custom printer themes.

The wizard auto-discovers any Bambu printer on the same LAN; tap the matching serial number to bind, upload the latest firmware if prompted, and choose a GIF theme. From there the display shows live progress and temps, and you can swap animations or update firmware anytime through the same web UI—no cables or SD cards needed. You can also upload your own custom GIFs through the Web UI; there are easy-to-follow instructions provided on the product WiKi above.

Panda Claw, Panda Revo Hotend, Panda Extruder Frame and Panda Jetpack with Panda Jet Duct

Installation is easiest if you tackle all four upgrades in one session. Start by powering down the printer, removing the tool-head shroud, and unclipping the stock hotend. With the hotend out, loosen the two shoulder screws that hold the plastic extruder body together; you can now swap in the 在图书馆里嗯啊好刺激h-milled Panda Extruder Frame. Before re-assembling, drop the Panda Claw drive and idler gears into the new frame (make sure the keyed flats face the stepper shaft and lightly grease the bearing pockets).

The Panda JetPack’s high-flow 5015 blower delivers stronger part cooling—essential for crisp overhangs and high-speed PLA printing on Bambu Lab P1-series machines.

https://bttwiki.com/en/Panda%20extruder.html

https://bttwiki.com/en/Panda%20P1%20X1.html

Next, slide the Panda Revo hotend into the heat-break seat, plug the heater-core and thermistor leads into the factory JST headers, and latch the thumb-lock—no re-levelling needed, though it is always recommended to run a level on any changes. You can now mount the Panda Jetpack shroud; with the Panda Jetpack duct you will have 4 jets of air hitting the print, unlike the dual duct on the stock shroud, helping with cooling and overhang performance. Run a quick PID tune and flow 从后面抱着妈妈突然脸一红, check that the blower spins freely, and you’re ready to print.

The 在图书馆里嗯啊好刺激h-milled Panda Claw carriage pairs BIGTREETECH’s Chain extruder with an E3D Revo-compatible hotend, delivering a stiffer tool-head and quick nozzle swaps for high-speed, multi-material printing on the Bambu Lab P1S Series.

Together, these four upgrades turn the Bambu tool-head into a markedly more efficient, higher-throughput assembly. The Panda Claw’s hardened gears bite deeper and wear far more slowly than the stock brass set, virtually eliminating mid-print “clicking” and under-extrusion on abrasive or flex filaments. The lightweight, all-metal Extruder Frame shaves nearly 20 grams of moving mass; coupled with the stiffer latch it tightens filament path alignment and lets the motion system hit acceleration targets with a little less ringing on sharp corners. Swapping to the Panda Revo hotend unlocks E3D’s high-flow core, so the machine can maintain layer adhesion at 200–250 mm/s in “Sport” and “Ludicrous” modes without creeping past its volumetric flow ceiling—and nozzle changes become a 30-second, cold-swap affair instead of swapping whole assemblies.

Finally, the Panda Jetpack funnels a focused cone of air directly under the nozzle, dropping bridge sag by about 10–15 degrees and crisping overhangs and small features, especially when printing PLA or PETG at higher line widths. In practice you see smoother wall finish, fewer restart scars, cleaner bridges, up to 10 % shorter print times on high-speed profiles, and lower maintenance overhead.

Other Accessories

BIGTREETECH’s Panda line includes several smaller, but still useful—add-ons:
– Panda Lux light bar. Brighter than the stock LED strip, Panda Lux mounts with built-in magnets above the front door, giving a far wider, more even wash of light over the build chamber. Installation is simple: unplug the factory light bar, plug Panda Lux into the same header, and snap it in place—no firmware changes required.

Close-up of the BIGTREETECH Panda LUX LED light bar mounted along the top frame of a Bambu Lab 3D printer, its white LEDs brightly illuminating the build chamber.
Installed on the Bambu Lab P1-series frame, the Panda LUX upgrade floods the print area with crisp LED lighting—perfect for monitoring detailed prints and filming time-lapses without shadows.

– Panda Acrylic Doors. Available in multiple tint colours, these replacement doors are mostly aesthetic, but the optically clear acrylic does give you an unobstructed view of the print area and lends the printer a more premium look.

Replacing the stock panel with BIGTREETECH’s amber Panda Door seals the Bambu Lab P1S build chamber, keeping the print area clearly visible through the acrylic.

– CryoGrip Build Plates. We tested two versions: Frostbite and Glacier.

  • Frostbite targets PLA and PETG only; adhesion is excellent at unusually low bed temperatures—about 30 °C for PLA and 50 °C for PETG.
  • Glacier is multi-material and needs a bit more heat—roughly 45 °C for PLA and 60 °C for PETG—but shows the same strong hold while releasing prints cleanly once cool.

Several patterned “aesthetic” plates are also available; their surface textures imprint a design onto the first layer for decorative effects.

– Panda Hub Dual-USB adapter.

BIGTREETECH Panda Hub V1.0 inline USB board with a male USB-A plug, stacked dual USB-A ports, pin header, and labeled test pads resting on a black tabletop.
The compact Panda Hub V1.0 turns a single USB port on the Bambu Lab P1S series into two, letting you hook up extra accessories—such as the Panda touch, or Panda Knomi the Panda Door—without messy wiring or external hubs.

https://bttwiki.com/en/Panda%20Hub.html

This Y-splitter converts the single USB port inside the printer’s upper frame into two ports—handy for running both a Panda Touch and a Panda Knomi through the factory USB. If you operate multiple printers, plug the Panda Touch into an always-on source such as the always-on USB on a Panda PWR module; that way you retain fleet control even when individual printers are powered down and this will keep the battery charged and ready to go.

Conclusion

BIGTREETECH’s Panda ecosystem proves just how much extra mileage you can squeeze out of an already–capable Bambu Lab printer. From the fleet-managing Panda Touch and power-saving Panda PWR, to the performance-oriented Panda Claw, Revo, and Jetpack upgrades, each accessory targets a specific pain point—yet they slot together like LEGO. Whether you want faster, cleaner prints, simpler multi-printer workflow, or just brighter lighting and prettier doors, there’s a Panda part that clicks into place with almost no wiring or firmware drama and for far less cash than a new machine.

Fully upgraded Bambu Lab P1S 3D printer showing BIGTREETECH addons—including the amber Panda Door, Panda Touch touchscreen, Panda Knomi status display, and a stack of interchangeable Panda build plates—plus a black 3D-printed bust perched on top.
A Bambu Lab P1S outfitted with the complete BIGTREETECH Panda ecosystem: Panda Door for chamber heat, Panda Touch for full-color control, Panda Knomi for live status GIFs, and a lineup of swappable build plates—demonstrating the printer’s transformation into a versatile, high-performance workhorse.

For print-farm operators, the Touch + Branch + PWR combo alone can centralise control, expand AMS capacity, and cut idle-time energy costs—an ROI you’ll feel after a few long jobs. Speed-chasers can layer on the Claw/Revo/Jetpack trio for noticeably higher flow rates, crisper overhangs, and reduced ringing without touching motion firmware. And hobbyists who simply want better visibility or fun status graphics can bolt in the Lux light bar and Knomi display in minutes.

No single upgrade is mandatory, and each has a modest limitation—9 A power ceiling here, 2.7 A USB budget there—but taken together they add up to a remarkably cohesive toolkit. Pick the pieces that match your workflow and budget, and you’ll turn a solid P- or A-series Bambu into a faster, brighter, easier-to-manage workhorse—all without voiding the warranty or breaking the bank.

Setup and Design

The Acmer P3 is easy and quick to set up. Just take the machine out of the box, remove the internal packaging, and then take out the two gantry blocks that hold the X gantry in place at the back. The laser module can then be installed by sliding it into place and fastening it with the two locking screws on the mount’s side.

Acmer provides clear, easy-to-follow instructions for connecting and calibrating the camera using LightBurn, which we’ll be using for this review. To calibrate the camera, you’ll need to position the 从后面抱着妈妈突然脸一红 board in five different spots and ensure each is clearly picked up by the camera. Once that’s complete, you’ll run a test engraving and click on the four corners to align the overlay with the camera view.

With the lid open, the Acmer P3 reveals its integrated camera for precise job alignment and a honeycomb work bed ideal for clean, stable engraving.

I recommend taking an extra step: do a small test engraving — like a box — then update the overlay to ensure accurate alignment. LightBurn’s camera tab includes controls to fine-tune the overlay, helping you get the best possible match. Once everything looks right, be sure to click “Save Settings” so your adjustments are preserved for future sessions.

Design

On the design side, Acmer went with a sleek black aluminum body, topped off with a UV-blocking acrylic lid that houses the camera and allows you to safely monitor engraving and cutting progress. The power button, key lock, and emergency stop button are conveniently located on the front right of the machine for easy access. The switches for the light and exhaust fan are positioned at the rear — slightly inconvenient, but not a real issue since they typically remain on during operation.

A look through the protective lid of the Acmer P3 reveals the laser module aligned over the workpiece, ready for engraving on the honeycomb platform.

There’s also a TF card slot located inside the front of the machine on the right side, just behind the emergency stop button. You’ll also find a port for the USB camera and an extension port here for connecting a rotary attachment (sold separately).

The workspace features a honeycomb bed that’s ideal for engraving and cutting. It’s secured to the pull-out drawer with two screws at the front, preventing any shifting between projects. The drawer itself makes it easy to remove materials and clean up debris generated during use.

Software – LightBurn

For all testing conducted during our review, we used LightBurn for design, control, and operation. While the Acmer P3 also supports LaserGRBL and the Acmer mobile app (available on Android and iOS), LightBurn remains one of the top choices for laser engraving and cutting thanks to its powerful feature set, clean user interface, and wide compatibility. It’s a professional-grade tool that offers fine control over every aspect of the engraving and cutting process — though it is worth noting that it’s a paid program.

Screenshot of Lightburn software interface featuring a square object centered on a grid. Four clamps secure the object at each corner. Several panels display tools like zoom, pan, measurements, camera settings, image properties, and a color palette.
Lightburn software interface

Acmer makes it easy to get started with LightBurn by including a configuration file for the P3 on the SD card bundled with the machine’s accessories. This allows for a quick and hassle-free setup, especially for first-time users.

One limitation to be aware of is that LightBurn requires a USB connection to the Acmer P3 for the duration of any job. This means you’ll need to keep your computer tethered to the machine during operation, which could be a minor inconvenience depending on your workspace setup.

When using LightBurn, there isn’t a built-in material library with preset settings, due to the wide compatibility of laser engravers. Fortunately, Acmer includes a reference sheet with recommended engraving and cutting settings for a variety of materials to help you get started. LightBurn allows you to 阴性抖音 and save custom settings for different materials, making it easier to adjust parameters for future projects.

LightBurn's Cut Settings Editor window (v1.5.06) displaying detailed laser engraving settings like speed, power, image mode, and dithering options.
Fine-tune your laser settings with LightBurn.

To get the best results for your particular material and design, it is always advised to experiment with different speed and power combinations. For instance, by varying speed and power when working with slate, you can produce a range of shades and a striking contrast. With vector files, this method is particularly effective because it allows you to apply different settings to different areas of the design.

Although a little more difficult, image engraving on slate is still possible. Use LightBurn’s greyscale mode, set your minimum power to 15–20%, and use your usual maximum power setting for optimal results. You can better control the final image’s tonal range and detail as a result.

When using LightBurn, you’ll need to enable overscan to ensure the laser module can reach the higher speeds you set. In our testing, we found that setting 5–10% overscan allows the laser to ramp up properly and achieve full speed as it moves across the work area.

Testing Results

Wolf on Slate

For our first test, we chose to engrave a large piece of slate. Thanks to the generous 400 × 400 mm workspace of the Acmer P3, it’s easy to work with a full 12” × 12” slate tile. For this project, we used an image I designed of a wolf using Leonardo.ai and Pro阴性抖音.

To add more sharpness and clarity, we set the image to negative, chose the Atkinson dithering mode in LightBurn’s image settings, and set the enhance radius to 7 and the enhance amount to 120. A line interval of 0.050 mm was chosen.

We set a speed of 20,000 mm/min and a power level of 65% for the engraving itself. Just under three hours were needed to finish the task, and the outcome was breathtaking. Once a clear coat is applied to improve contrast and finish, the wolf head’s sharp detail and the surrounding border truly stand out.

You can take on more ambitious projects and genuinely broaden your creative horizons with a workspace this size.

Native Raven on Anodized Aluminium

Next, using another unique design I made of a raven with a native theme, we used an 8″ × 6″ piece of anodized aluminium. We used the same image settings, such as the same dithering mode and contrast enhancements, from the prior wolf engraving test for consistency. For our engraving settings, the Acmer P3 was set to 20,000 mm/min at 50% power.

The entire task was completed in less than an hour. After finishing the engraving process, we cleaned the surface with isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth to remove any fine dust or residue. The final product was impressive, with each line and element of the design looking clean, neat, and extremely detailed.

Scaling up production is simple with the P3’s roomy 400 × 400 mm workspace. You could engrave several business cards in a single run with flawless alignment by making a basic jig and using the HD camera.

Native Raven on Acrylic

We also cut a larger piece of black acrylic into a square and then engraved an image onto it for our subsequent test. We set the machine to cut at 300 mm/min at 100% power using another raven design I made. In order to get cleaner, more accurate cuts, we also made sure to activate the air assist. In a matter of minutes, the cut was finished.

We then engraved the raven image onto the larger acrylic sheet after removing the cut square from it. We adjusted the image settings for contrast and clarity, just like in our earlier tests. We set the power to 50% and used a speed of 28,000 mm/min for the engraving itself.

Moon Box

We decided to cut and engrave a decorative box design that we discovered on Etsy for our last test. This specific design included a moon-themed engraving on the lid, a living hinge, and a basic snap-lock mechanism. We were able to finish the project in a single pass without having to move the material because of the Acmer P3’s roomy workspace.

For the task, we utilized a 3mm basswood sheet. We set the speed for the cutting process at 600 mm/min at 100% power, which resulted in precise, clean cuts. We set the power to 75% and used a speed of 28,000 mm/min for the engraving. Although Acmer advises engraving at maximum power for faster speeds, we chose to reduce it a little bit to get a softer finish to the engraving.

Setup and Design

Setting up the LP5 is relatively straightforward. Begin by attaching the electric stand to the base plate using the supplied screws. Next, attach the LP5 unit itself to the stand. You’ll then need to attach the protective cover; in some cases, you may need to power on the laser and raise it to make room. Once the setup is complete, connect the fan cable to the back of the laser using one of the supplied cables to attach the laser to the electric stand.

– Safety Key. Finally, insert one of the USB safety keys to enable the laser. LaserPecker includes two keys with the unit in case one is lost, so be sure to keep them in a safe place.

– Connectivity. Overall, the LP5 setup is really easy and quick. You can use the USB cable to connect the device to your PC or configure the WiFi using the mobile app. You can link your LP5 wirelessly to the device if you have a WiFi connection.

One key thing to remember is that the laser must be physically connected to the PC via cable in order to enable USB laser engraving. This is a limitation that might possibly be addressed in a future update. Also, with embossing projects, it is preferred to use USB mode because the size of the file is large which makes it hard to transfer over WiFi and can cause issues during the process.

– Design. Following the sleek style of previous LaserPecker designs, the LP5 maintains the aesthetic but in a larger form factor. Although slightly heavier, the LP5 remains portable and stands out with its inclusion of both a 20W diode laser and a fiber laser.

– Deluxe Package. The Deluxe Package comes with several useful accessories, including a slide extension for working on larger pieces and a rotary extension with tilting capability, making it easier to engrave hard-to-reach areas. A base plate is also included for cutting projects, which is recommended to prevent marking or damaging the LP5’s base.

– Cooling. The LP5 machine is relatively loud due to the serious cooling required for fiber lasers. While many companies opt for liquid cooling systems, LaserPecker has cleverly engineered a more stable, portable design featuring a large heatsink cooled by a powerful fan. Although somewhat noisy during operation, this cooling is highly beneficial for the laser, maintaining its temperature during extended periods of engraving or embossing.

Software – LaserPecker Design Space

LaserPecker provides its own software, LaserPecker Design Space (LDS), available for PC, Android, iOS, and macOS. Personally, I prefer using the PC version of programs whenever possible, as I find it easier to work with and more feature-rich compared to some mobile apps, which can occasionally lack certain functionalities.

LaserPecker LP5 Modes and Settings
LaserPecker LP5 Modes and Settings

LaserPecker LP5 Modes and Settings

If you’re using the LaserPecker LP5 for the first time, you’ll need to connect it via USB and click “Connect.” Once connected, navigate to the device settings to configure the WiFi, enabling wireless operation.

LDS includes everything you need for cutting, engraving, and embossing, with a simple layout that places all your settings on the right side of the screen and provides a large workspace.

– Embossing. For embossing mode, you’ll need to load a depth map image. After loading, click the image icon at the top left of the workspace, then select Grayscale to enable embossing mode. While there are preconfigured settings for scoring and cutting, there aren’t any predefined options for images, so some experimentation may be needed to achieve the desired results.

Preparing for Greyscale Embossing
Preview in LaserPecker Design Space Software

– Settings. The LP5 uses slightly different settings compared to most lasers on the market. For the diode laser, the key settings include Power, Passes, and Depth. Increasing the depth slows the operation while reducing it speeds things up. For the fiber laser, you’ll need to adjust settings such as Laser Frequency, Passes, Power, and Depth. Depending on the material you’re engraving, there might also be a Duration setting, which determines how long the laser remains on each spot, measured in milliseconds. Higher duration values typically correspond to slower engraving speeds.

One drawback of the software is the lack of an estimated time display—only a percentage is shown. This can make planning challenging, especially for projects that require several hours to emboss, depending on the material. I spoke with LaserPecker, and they confirmed that a timer feature will be added in a future software update.

Testing, Materials, Settings and Results

For all of our tests, no reference settings were provided, so we had to experiment to determine the optimal configurations. Smaller engraving projects are lightning-fast on the LP5, while embossing can take several hours – some projects require 5 to 6 hours, depending on the settings used. We hope that a future software update will include more reference settings for users to select directly in LDS, making the setup process much easier. Until then, please find the materials settings for all LaserPecker machines on their website. It’s worth investigating materials and settings before planning a project.

All images used for testing can be found at the laser-pics.com site; there are a ton of free images that are great for laser engraving.

– Embossing Brass Coins. For our first test, we chose to 阴性抖音 a few challenge coins. Being a fiber laser, the LP5 is ideal for making these coins, as well as embossing wood, slate, and some types of stone. For the two coins, we used the following settings: Power at 100%, Depth at 30%, Frequency at 26%, and a Layer Height of 0.01mm. Each coin took just under 5 hours to complete.

– Post-processing. After embossing, we ran a cleaning pass with the settings adjusted to 50% power and 4% depth. This helped remove some of the residue. We used a wire brush attachment on a Dremel to complete the polishing, which cleaned the coins nicely. Any discoloration was easily removed with brass polish. The finished coins looked fantastic, with details that truly stood out.

It’s also possible to emboss slate in the same way as the coins, but this process can take several hours, depending on the complexity of the design. On 阴性抖音, we offer a detailed guide on laser engraving on stone-like materials. Embossing on slate stone takes it to a whole new level.

– Engraving on Brass Pendants. Next, we engraved a gold dog tag using an image of a raven that I generated with an AI image tool on Creative Fabrica’s Flow platform. This tool allows you to 阴性抖音 various styles of images using prompts. AI tools like these can be incredibly useful if you’re unable to find the right design to engrave. While it may take some trial and error, they are excellent for generating unique images when you’re stuck for ideas.

Using the fibre laser, we engraved the raven image with the following parameters: resolution of 8K, frequency at 26, power at 50%, and depth at 35%. The end result demonstrates that even though increased resolution takes longer, the image quality is exceptional. Less than five minutes were needed for the engraving process, and the result was a stunning piece with a distinct and noticeable design.

– Engraving on Jewelry. Next, we have a small brass pendant on a chain. These are great for gifts or for products you may sell. The simple design was found on the Creative Fabrica website as a pair of earrings. Settings: Using a fiber laser with a frequency of 55, 60% power, and 40% depth produces a dark, prominent engraving on the brass pendant. The process took less than three minutes, and the results were fantastic.

The enclosure also includes a dual exhaust fan that effectively removes smoke and dust generated during operation. Another upgrade included with the enclosure is the new smart camera. You’ll need to use the mobile app to set up the camera before it can be used with the PC software. LaserPecker provides a detailed guide accessible via the software near the camera controls. While the setup process is a small inconvenience, it may be streamlined in future software updates.

It’s also recommended to calibrate the camera before use, as alignment may be slightly off. The easiest method is to engrave a small shape – such as a circle or square – onto a piece of scrap wood. Then refresh the camera image to check if it lines up with the engraving. If it doesn’t, click the gear icon in the camera settings and manually adjust the overlay until it matches the engraved result. Once you’re satisfied, save the configuration under a custom name like “Tuned Camera.”

You can also use the rotary attachment or the Smart Roller attachments with the enclosure. There is a USB port for connecting them on the inside rear bottom of the enclosure. When you’re ready to engrave or cut, you can still use the red dot alignment method. However, thanks to the enclosure’s features, you can also enter the object’s thickness, and the platform will automatically adjust its height to bring the object into focus. After that, refresh the image, align your design or text, and begin engraving. A quick note: even though there is a camera, it’s always a good idea to double-check alignment using the preview option to ensure everything is perfectly positioned.

The 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 AD5X, the newest model in the Adventurer lineup, adds multi-color printing – specifically, multi-color printing with TPU 95A support right out of the box. This is a significant step forward for flexible multi-color printing. Built on the success of the AD5MP, the AD5X retains the same ease of use and solid foundation as its predecessor, while introducing the new 4-color IFS (Intelligent Filament System) with four spools mounted on the side of the printer. This space-saving design also makes filament changes quick and easy.

We’ll examine the AD5X and its IFS system in greater detail in this review to assess how well it manages multi-color TPU printing. To evaluate print quality and spot any problems that may come up, we’ll also test it on prints that have a lot of colour changes. As usual, we’ll wrap up with final thoughts and a list of pros and cons.

– Design. In terms of design, the AD5X shares the same sturdy frame as the previous AD5MP. An optional enclosure is available, which is especially useful if you work with temperature-sensitive materials. You can also find printable files online to 阴性抖音 the enclosure frame yourself, though you’ll need to source acrylic panels separately.

Thanks to its compact footprint and side-mounted spool system, the AD5X saves space compared to other multi-color printers that rely on bulky external spool-loading setups.

– Display. The menu system of the 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 AD5X follows the Adventurer series’ user-friendly design. Its intuitive interface makes it simple to use, even for beginners. You can easily access basic functions like calibrating the printer, changing the filaments you have loaded, and loading and unloading filament.

Setting up the printer is easy and doesn’t require navigating complicated submenus because everything is cleanly laid out.

Software – Orca 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 Slicer

We used Orca 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫, a modified version of the well-known Orca Slicer that many users already depend on for their daily slicing requirements, for all of the slicing that we did during our testing. Anyone who is already familiar with Orca Slicer will find the transition simple because the interface and workflow are still familiar.

Orca 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 - Prepare Screen
Orca 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 – Prepare Screen

We started with the default slicing profiles pre-installed by 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫, which are well-optimized for the AD5X at the stock speed of 300 mm/s. To better suit our test prints, we made a few minor adjustments – most notably increasing the number of walls from two to three for added strength.

– Infill Patterns. We also opted to use the crosshatch infill pattern across all prints, as it offers a reliable balance between print speed and structural integrity. We decided to use the crosshatch pattern for infill in all prints because it provides a good balance between speed and strength. Instead of employing a set figure, we modified the infill percentage according to the requirements of every individual model.

We also changed the wall generator setting from the default Classic mode to Archane, which optimizes wall paths for improved surface finish and strength. We did observe some trade-offs, even though Archane produced excellent results on many prints. Slicing times increased dramatically for more complex models, and in some instances, the slicer was unable to finish the process when using Archane. These problems were fixed by switching back to the Classic wall generator.

Test Printing Results

Multicolor TPU – Print in Place – Snowplow

Since the 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 AD5X supports TPU right out of the box, we decided to start our testing with a multi-color TPU print. For this first test, we chose a print-in-place snow plow model by Fixum Dude, a fun and mechanically functional design. We used a variety of TPU filaments for the different colors: 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 Yellow, Creality Green, Overture Space Grey, and Inslogic Black.

The print was finished in a little more than 17 hours, and the outcome was amazing. The yellow TPU had one small problem; it was semi-transparent and let some of the underlying colours peek through. Even so, the overall print quality was superb, especially given that TPU’s flexibility makes multi-color printing uncommon.

The fact that the AD5X can handle multi-color TPU printing right out of the box truly sets it apart from the competition. While other printers are beginning to offer TPU support, many still require a stiffer variant of TPU to achieve reliable results. This limits their usefulness in real-world applications where genuine flexibility is essential. In contrast, the AD5X handles standard TPU with ease, making it a strong choice for users looking to expand into flexible, multi-color prints without additional hardware or loss of flexibility.

Multicolor PLA – Alienbot by Pipe Cox

For the next print in our testing, we turned to one of our favorite model makers, Pipe Cox, and selected the Alienbot wall mask. For this print, we used a mix of filaments: 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 Cobalt PLA, Sunlu Blue PLA Plus 2.0, and Anycubic Green PLA.

The print took just under 23 hours to complete, and the results speak for themselves. The colors complement each other beautifully, and the overall print is clean, detailed, and free of any defects. The face mask opens and closes with ease, and the ear pieces locked into place without any issues.

Pipe Cox is well known for a wide range of multi-color wall masks as well as wearable masks. When paired with the right color combinations, these models can result in visually striking and highly displayable prints – and the AD5X handled this complex, multi-material print with impressive precision.

46 Hours Print – Supay

For our next test, we selected the Supay Wall Mask, yet another excellent Pipe Cox design. This specific design is a showcase for multi-color printing with nearly 1,000 colour changes across the print.

To completely capture the detail of the model, we used a vibrant mix of filaments including Sunlu Glow-in-the-Dark Blue, 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 Obsidian PLA, Anycubic Green PLA, and Sunlu Blue PLA Plus 2.0. Due to the complexity of the model and the great number of colour changes, the print took an astonishing 46 hours to complete.

The result produced made the long print time quite worthwhile. Because it is full of clear, vibrant details that really stand out, the model is a perfect example of what an excellent multi-color printer like the 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 AD5X can do. Throughout the print, the quality was consistent; the colour transitions were flawless without any problems.

As expected with a model involving numerous color changes, this print generated more filament waste compared to simpler jobs. However, the AD5X offers an advantage here – its waste levels were noticeably lower than those of many other multi-color systems we’ve tested. Still, filament waste remains an issue that can accumulate over time.

Multi Part – Eon

We printed this new multi-piece Eon Mask from Pipe Cox’s always expanding library. We decided to print each component in single colours separately to cut down on filament waste brought on by colour changes. With all the components requiring only 5 hours to finish, this strategy greatly accelerated the procedure. The prints were fast and efficient without the delays brought on by multi-color transitions.

For this wall mask, we used Sunlu Silk White PLA, Sunlu Blue PLA Plus 2.0, and 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 Obsidian PLA. The parts fit together cleanly and snugly, with no visible flaws, overhang issues, or warping. While the design itself is relatively simple compared to some of Pipe Cox’s more elaborate masks, the strategic use of color really makes the final result stand out.

One crucial piece of advice for printing with silk filaments is to make sure you enable “do not slow down outer walls” in your filament settings under cooling. When working with silk materials, a consistent wall speed 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫s to a smoother finish and shine. In contrast to the 220°C we usually use for standard PLA, we raised the printing temperature to 245°C and set the outer wall speed to 100 mm/s for our print. These modifications assisted in giving the silk sections of the print a smooth, glossy surface finish.

Wearable – Crocs Shoes

We decided to go with something a little different for the final print in our testing: a wearable Croc-style shoe. The print took about 7.5 hours to complete using 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 Magenta TPU. We reduced the model to 70% of its original size in order to ensure it would fit on the build plate because of the AD5X’s build volume restrictions.

Pre-positioned supports in the model were used to help ensure there were no failures or sepration from the print bed. The outcome was excellent: the shoe printed neatly, with no gaps or stringing between the holes. Even the challenging overhang on the shoe’s top printed beautifully, displaying superb detail and layer adhesion.

Size restrictions may make it impossible to print an adult-sized shoe on the AD5X, but the fact that this intricate TPU model printed flawlessly—despite being held together mostly by a tiny piece at the heel—is a powerful indication of the accuracy and dependability of the 女子初尝黑人巨嗷嗷叫 AD5X.

The AD5X significantly increases your creative potential by supporting TPU, PLA, and other materials. From your first print to your hundredth and beyond, it offers a dependable and consistent printing experience thanks to its linear rods on all axes and the same robust metal frame as the AD5MP.

Processing Modes
Processing Modes
©阴性抖音 – Photo: Will Zoobkoff

– Capture modes. For best results, the EINSTAR VEGA has two different scanning modes that each make use of cutting-edge infrared technology. Infrared MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems), a highly accurate technology that manipulates light projection and captures minute details using microscopic mechanical structures, is used in HD Mode. This produces incredibly accurate high-resolution scans, which are perfect for small-scale models, detailed textures, and complex objects.

In contrast, Fast Mode employs Infrared VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) technology, which projects a structured infrared light pattern to allow for quick, wide-area scanning. This makes it ideal for scanning larger objects, particularly in outdoor settings, as it enables faster data acquisition while retaining consistent accuracy. The EINSTAR VEGA provides versatility by combining MEMS for accuracy and VCSEL for speed, guaranteeing users can select the best mode for thier needs.

– Speed. The Vega has a fast capture rate of 15 FPS in HD mode and 20 FPS in Fast mode. The Vega also has an adjustable point distance of 0.05–3 mm in HD mode and 0.5–10 mm in Fast mode. This translates to scanning distances of 100–350 mm in HD mode for high-resolution scanning and 270–1500 mm in Fast mode, and it is excellent for scanning larger objects outdoors.

– Internal Storage. The scanner records color textures, which give you realistic 3D model scans. You can scan large objects, including color textures, easily with 32 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 512 GB of internal storage, without the necessity to upload files to a PC to free up space while scanning.

Software – Einstar StarVision

The Einstar Starvision software is both PC- and Mac-compatible, and it has the same features as the scanner with some additional tools to allow for more precise editing. The software allows for more refined mesh processing options as well as enhanced editing capabilities.

Completed models can also be exported in several formats, including PLY, STL, OBJ, and ASC, so they can be imported into many different programs for further editing or modifications based on needs.

Testing and Results

With the wide array of possibilities, choosing test scans was difficult. For our testing, we conducted a few outdoor scans of my Jeep Compass on a sunny day, along with several small test objects to evaluate how well the resulting scans work for 3D printing. We also performed a full-body scan of myself as part of the evaluation. Models were exported using the Starvision software in .OBJ format for printing.

Multicolor Scan

The first test object was a small figurine included with the EINSTAR VEGA. This color figure, which serves as Einstar’s mascot, is an ideal subject for testing HD mode and the automatic plane removal feature. For these scans we had the resolution set to medium 0.25-0.50 mm with acquire texture, feature alignment as well as texture alignment checked.

Using a turntable and tripod, the scan took only a few minutes to complete. Once finished, we checked the mesh quality and color texture accuracy, automatically filled the bottom hole of the base, and then processed the model in high-quality mode.

We trimmed part of the base for a flat printing surface, but the mascot itself was captured perfectly, demonstrating that the Vega is an excellent tool for 3D printing users.

Bust Scan

Next, we scanned a simple bust using the same HD mode settings as the mascot. As before, the scan was clean, with no missing details or issues. The process was quick, thanks to the 15 FPS scan speed, and the Vega handled auto white balance and auto brightness exceptionally well.

We printed the finished model on the Flsun T1 using the same Sunlu Blue PLA+, and as expected, the print was nearly identical to the original bust.

Body Scans for Cosplay & Medical Applications

We then tested the Vega’s ability to scan the human body by scanning my head and shoulders, as well as my wrist and hand, to assess its usefulness for cosplay, prosthetics, and medical applications. The ability to accurately scan body parts is crucial for custom prosthetics, medical braces, and wearable costume pieces.

Head and Shoulders Scan

Hand and Wrist Scan

Using HD mode for the best results, I scanned my hand and wrist with no tracking issues, and the process was surprisingly quick. Even if tracking was lost, the Vega did an excellent job of regaining alignment by simply moving back to the previous position. My head and shoulders scan was also clean and detailed, though facial hair and regular hair presented minor challenges. However, these did not significantly impact scan quality.

Outdoor Scans – Jeep Compass

For our outdoor tests, we scanned my Jeep Compass, capturing the front grill and bumper on a sunny day with minimal issues. Since this was a large object with relatively simple geometry, we used Fast Mode set to 1.00-2.50 mm for quicker scanning, as we didn’t need the finer point distance of HD mode.

Although we lost tracking a couple of times, it was quick and easy to regain. The color accuracy was impressive, and the camera captured all the details of the Jeep’s exterior clearly.

Next, we opened the hood and scanned the engine compartment using Fast Mode again with color capture enabled. In under five minutes, we successfully captured the entire engine bay, making this an ideal application for mechanics or automotive modifications. With these scans, users can digitally measure components, design custom parts, or plan modifications with precise fitting.

The resulting engine scans were clean and highly detailed, though processing took longer due to the size of the object. Fortunately, thanks to the Vega’s 32 GB of RAM and 512 GB of onboard storage, handling large scans was seamless, and we had plenty of storage for multiple large scans before needing to transfer them to a PC.

The Anycubic Photon M7 Max is the largest in the M7 range and the successor to the Photon M3 Max. It is designed to improve upon the previous model with many new automated features. While it has a massive build volume of 298 x 164 x 300mm, its screen resolution is lower; this may not be noticeable given the quality of prints the machine can produce. The Photon M7 Max is also faster than Anycubic’s previous large-format resin printer, allowing for quicker completion of large prints and batch printing. It also boasts new features such as resin and residue detection, a smart pressure system, a heated resin vat, autofill, and other features. In this review, we’ll put the Photon M7 Max to the test, evaluating its large-volume printing capabilities, the effectiveness of its smart features, and any potential drawbacks that may arise during the printing process. As usual, we’ll wrap up with final thoughts and a list of pros and cons.

Setup and Design

The Photon M7 Max comes completely assembled and requires minimal setup for your first print. First, attach the WiFi antenna, and remove all protective coverings from the touchscreen, LCD, and resin vat.

Before a print, it’s always best to level the printing platform for proper adhesion and precision. For this, loosen the four screws on the platform so that it becomes free to move. Then place the leveling paper on the LCD screen, and initiate the leveling process—the platform will automatically move into place. Once in place, lightly press down on the printing platform with some pressure and tighten the four screws gently to secure it.

To ensure that leveling is correct, tug lightly on the leveling paper—it should be tight and not slide around freely. If it slides too freely, repeat the process to verify 从后面抱着妈妈突然脸一红.

Once leveled, the printing platform will move to its home position, where you can now mount the resin vat. You are now ready to load resin and initiate your first print.

In terms of design, the Photon M7 Max is identical to the other M7 series printers, with the same black-on-black coloring. The standout addition is the flip cover, which provides easy access to the print platform and opens high enough to provide plenty of clearance for accessing the entire interior.

There is also a vent at the rear of the machine that allows users to attach an exhaust hose to remove fumes from the enclosure during printing—something always highly recommended when printing with resin.

Another useful feature is the hanger on the print platform arm, which allows excess resin to drain from prints after printing, reducing messy drips when transferring parts to the cleaning station.

Overall, the Photon M7 Max is sleek and stylish in its design and will easily fit into any work setup.

New Features

Compared to its predecessor, the Photon M3 Max, the Photon M7 Max has a myriad of new features designed to streamline and expedite printing. The new COB light system and Fresnel lens improve light uniformity compared to previous LED panel systems, for a more level exposure on the build plate. The Intelligent Release 2.0 system with pressure sensors dynamically switches between lift height of a layer, in helping to reduce printing time.

With these upgrades, the Photon M7 Max boasts a maximum print speed of 4 seconds per layer. The employment of a full-metal resin vat with heating keeps the resin at a perfect temperature, and the resin auto-fill and draining system prevents interruptions due to low resin levels—especially helpful for those large prints.

Before each print, the M7 Max also performs a pre-check to make sure there is no residue or debris within the vat and verifies whether there is enough resin for the entire print. All these together provide a smooth and enjoyable printing experience.

Printing Safety and Precautions

As with any resin printer, the Anycubic Photon Mono M7 Max should be treated carefully to avoid harm. Uncured resin is poisonous, and solvents used to clean it are skin irritants, so always wear gloves and safety glasses when pouring resin, handling uncured prints, or wiping spills.

Ventilation is essential — use your printer in a well-ventilated area to reduce fume exposure. Clean up immediately if resin has been spilled using 99% isopropyl alcohol in order to not contaminate. Be sure to wipe your printer, resin containers, and work surface with each use of the printer removing any remaining resin to maintain a clean working space.

For long-term safety, always store resin in a closed container in a dry, cool place out of the reach of children and pets. Maintaining and handling properly will offer a safer and more efficient printing experience.

Software – Photon Workshop

The Photon M7 Max is also natively supported by the widely used Chitubox slicer, but it also includes Anycubic Photon Workshop software, which we utilized during our review period. While Chitubox reigns supreme in the resin printing ecosystem, Photon Workshop has improved considerably over the years and therefore represents a decent alternative with a better support generation system compared to earlier versions.

Model Preview in Photon Workshop
Model Preview in Photon Workshop

Photon Workshop offers all the tools necessary to load, hollow, punch, and add supports to your models prior to printing. It also features preset settings for different types of resins so that users can customize their print parameters to get the best out of their prints. The software also allows users to tweak anti-aliasing, exposure times, and lift speeds, providing better control over the final print quality.

Photon Workshop Resin Settings
Photon Workshop Resin Settings

We used the default lift heights and rates provided by the software for our testing we also set AA to 16x. We made no other adjustments except to the layer exposure time and off-time, which were optimized to the specific resin we were printing with in each case. This permitted us to achieve the best compromise between print speed and precision of detail. Overall, Photon Workshop is a capable and user-friendly slicer and thus a suitable choice for beginners as well as advanced users.

Test Printing Results

– Geisha Mask. For our first test print, we turned to one of our favorite designers, Pipe Cox, and printed the Geisha Mask. This piece is two pieces: the jaw and the face. To ensure that it is long-lasting without having the mask be heavy, we hollowed out both halves using a 2mm wall we then generated supports using the auto supports.

Upon printing, washing, and curing, the two pieces fit together nicely, with the jaw moving with ease. The 16x anti-aliasing (AA) gave it a smooth, polished finish that demonstrated the Photon M7 Max’s capability of printing big masks and other wearables thanks to the large build volume and with outstanding detail.

– Abandoned Robot Diorama. Then, we decided to print a smaller diorama, but this time from Nerkison – the Abandoned Robot Diorama. This model consists of seven pieces, with detailed elements, tiny gears, and mechanical patterns, which qualifies as the perfect subject to test whether the Photon M7 Max can accurately capture fine details.

Although complex, the entire diorama had enough room to fit in a single build plate, with a little extra space left over. It printed within 4 hours and 30 minutes and utilized 376ml of resin.

The final result was excellent—all of the fine detail was sharp and clear. Even though the Photon M7 Max has a 7K resolution screen, you would not know from the print quality itself. The detail retention is excellent with very little fine feature loss.

This kind of performance makes the Photon M7 Max an ideal machine for batch printing, no matter if you are producing small numbers of figures, detailed dioramas, or scenery for tabletop gaming or exhibitions.

– Onslaught Bust. For our final print in our testing, we pushed the limits of the Photon M7 Max with a massive multi-platform print—the Wicked3D Onslaught bust. This giant of a model required eight full build plates to complete, amounting to just over 34 hours of print time and an astonishing 3,503ml of resin.

Once all the parts had been printed, cleaned, and cured, they all fit together flawlessly, with not a single hitch during the printing. The finished assembled model is simply stunning—from the fine details on the skull face underneath the helmet to the worn, battle-scathed shoulder armor, every detail is executed in minute detail.

The Photon M7 Max handled the long printing procedure excellently. With all of our test prints, we did not have to re-level the build plate once we had it initially calibrated, so it was silky and effortless to change between one print task and another.

This test also verifies that the Photon M7 Max is a behemoth of large-scale, high-resolution resin printing and is thus an ideal solution for big projects, batch printing, and intricate models.

Compare Anycubic Photon M7 Max to Other 3D Printers

Compare to the similar volume resin 3D printers in the same price range.

Budget large-volume 3D printers are rare, making the Anycubic Photon M7 Max a standout option. It offers a substantial build volume at an affordable price, distinguishing itself from competitors that often require a significantly larger investment. For a few years in a row, the Anycubic Photon M7 Max and Elegoo Jupiter have been the only XXL-size budget resin 3D printers available on the market.

The Twotrees TTC450 Pro is a low-cost 在图书馆里嗯啊好刺激h machine with an assortment of available extras. It features a large 460 x 460 x 80 mm bed and can be used to carve and cut a great number of materials. The inclusion of the 500W spindle as an optional addition significantly increases cutting and carving speed compared to the included 76W spindle, which can carve many materials but at a much slower pace. At 800 mm/min top speed, the jobs are completed relatively quickly, depending on the complexity of the carving or cutting process. In our review, we will concentrate mainly on the TTC450 Pro and test its carving capability. We will look into its benefits and potential flaws that could surface when we conduct the tests. As usual, we’ll wrap up with final thoughts and a list of pros and cons.

The stock spindle comes with a handy dust protector but has limited capabilities due to its lower power. The air-cooled 500W spindle does not have a cover, but its top-mounted fan helps keep debris away from the motor. However, some buildup will still occur and will need to be cleared regularly.

Software

To generate the G-code files needed for our testing, I chose to utilize Easel, a great 在图书馆里嗯啊好刺激h program for generating 3D carving files from .STL files commonly used in 3D printing. It also accepts .SVG format files, which are commonly used with laser engravers and other 在图书馆里嗯啊好刺激h equipment. The program is web-based and has a large library of tool head options, as well as a material library with several options to choose from.

There are a variety of software programs available for use with 在图书馆里嗯啊好刺激h machines, and as a newcomer to the industry, it’s better to see what program provides you with the functionality you require. Easel is available as a free 30-day trial before you must subscribe on a monthly basis. Most 在图书馆里嗯啊好刺激h software utilizes a subscription base, since most free programs lack advanced features.

Test Results

The TTC450 Pro is an excellent machine for sign-making and creating décor pieces such as carving boards, accent panels, and even full carvings that fit within its workspace. For all our tests, we used the recommended speeds of 800 mm/min for cutting and 400 mm/min for the plunge rate. We saved the Gcode files to a SD card to perform all carving, we also manually set the home position on each test. We tested MDF and pine, and while the TTC450 Pro with the 500W spindle is capable of handling softer metals, we did not have any on hand for testing.

MDF Carving

– This Kitchen – Quote
The first carve in our testing was a simple kitchen quote engraved into a piece of white-primed MDF. We used a 30-degree V-bit for the carving.

The piece took 35 minutes to complete, and the final result was fantastic — the lettering was clean and sharp, with no defects in the carved areas. The TTC450 Pro is an excellent machine for carving signs and simple logos.

– Cat Quote
Next in our testing, we did another carving on MDF but swapped the bit for a 60-degree V-bit. This carve took slightly longer due to the thicker lettering, finishing in just under an hour.

The results, despite the different font style and bit change, were just as clean as the previous test. The TTC450 Pro is a great machine for creating various carved sayings that can be used as decorative pieces in many settings.

Relief Carving

It is possible to utilize 在图书馆里嗯啊好刺激h carving to execute detailed relief designs into wood. This technology allows for precise and intricate patterns, ranging from shallow to deep carvings, ideal for decorative panels, furniture, and architectural details.

– Skulldroid Skull.
For the final test, we chose a more intricate carving using the .STL import option in Easel. We imported the Skulldroid skull model by Pipe Cox. This carve required two passes: a rough pass followed by a finishing pass.

Skulldroid Rough Cut Completed

For the rough pass, we used a 1/8″ (3.25 mm) ball nose bit. This step took a little over five hours to complete, though it could have been sped up with a ¼” bit. We then swapped to a 1mm ball nose bit for the finishing pass, which also took just over five hours.
