The diode laser is the main option for wood, leather, slate, coated surfaces, and general hobby projects, while the IR module expands the machine into metal marking and similar materials.

The Sculpfun line has earned a solid reputation as a compact, beginner-friendly laser engraver range, especially for its cutting performance and built-in safety features. The fully enclosed design and the option to swap between diode and infrared laser modules give the iCube Ultra impressive versatility for a hobby-grade machine. It feels like a noticeable step up from earlier iCube models in both capability and refinement.

Safety was one of the first things that stood out to me. The enclosure is already reassuring, but the extra safety features really won me over. It has an emergency stop button and an interlock door, which cuts the laser out if the door is opened during operation.

Right out of the box, the build quality is immediately apparent. Unlike open-frame designs, this is a fully enclosed unit, and it felt sturdy rather than toy-like. Assembly was surprisingly straightforward and mostly plug-and-play, with only a few screws needed to connect the extraction hose.

The pre-wound belts meant I did not have to fight with belt tensioning, which is a big win for beginners. Tension can still be adjusted if needed, but it was good to see the machine arrive in a state that made setup feel simple.

The dual-module capability is a genuine highlight. The iCube Ultra works with the standard blue diode laser for materials such as wood and acrylic, but it can also take the optional 1.2W infrared module for metal engraving. I had a lot of fun using the IR module on stainless steel, where it produced clean, professional-looking results.

The optional built-in camera is also a useful upgrade. If purchased, it helps with positioning and makes placing designs much more accurate, which can reduce material waste.

The laser module is straightforward to install, but it is easiest if you first lay the machine on its side. Remove the two screws securing the laser bed, then tilt the unit over for better access. Once the bed is off, slide the laser module into the guide rail and secure it using the two bolts included in the tool kit. After that, connect the power cable and the module is ready to go.

Next, install the front protective cover. This updated cover is noticeably more rigid than the one on the previous iCube, which felt more flimsy and awkward to fit. It also now features an interlocked door, so you no longer need to remove the whole cover every time you swap materials. That is a much more practical design.


Design Features and Software Connection

With engraving speeds reaching up to 10,000 mm/min, the Ultra delivers genuinely fast performance. It is powered by a self-developed 32-bit high-speed engraving motherboard, which helps maintain smooth motion and consistent quality even at higher speeds.

The iCube Ultra offers a 150 x 150mm working area, which is plenty for many hobby-level projects. However, it does not include a reversible bed with a honeycomb surface. That would have improved airflow and made cutting wood or other materials more efficient.

SCULPFUN has introduced a built-in smoke filtration system on the iCube Ultra, which captures and filters smoke produced during everyday engraving tasks. For heavier cutting jobs, the machine also supports connecting an external higher-capacity air purifier to further improve filtration performance.

You can also add the optional internal camera, with its mounting position already pre-aligned inside the machine for easier installation. The Ultra also supports a rotary roller attachment, giving you the flexibility to engrave cylindrical items and expand the overall crafting capability.

The laser features a bright status indicator on the top front panel, giving an at-a-glance view of what the machine is doing. The colours are easy to understand: red indicates a malfunction, yellow signals that engraving has finished, blue shows the laser is actively running, and green means the machine is in standby. It is a simple but genuinely useful way to keep track of the laser’s current state.

The machine also includes a USB locking key that acts as a physical safety lock. Removing it instantly disables the unit, preventing anyone from operating the laser without the key. It is simple, but effective.

The final feature I want to highlight is the automatic focus button. Simply place your material on the workspace, lower the laser head to the correct height, and press the auto-focus button. This can be done with the door open, as it is not tied to the interlock shutdown system. After that, make any fine adjustments if needed.

Software connection is straightforward. Plug the USB-C to USB-A data cable into your computer and launch your preferred engraving software. The iCube Ultra is compatible with LightBurn, LaserGRBL, and the Sculpfun app. For this review, I used LightBurn, which recognised the machine without any issues.

The steps I used to connect the iCube Ultra to LightBurn were simple. Open the Devices tab, choose av中文字幕潮喷人妻系列 Manually, select GRBL, and name the machine “Sculpfun iCube Ultra.” Set the working area to 150 x 150mm and choose Diode Laser as the device type. Make sure the homing position is set to front-left, which LightBurn usually highlights by default.

Once saved, the new device appears in the list. Select it and set it as the default if you plan to use it regularly. LightBurn should then automatically connect, and the laser module should home to its starting position. If it does not, follow the LightBurn troubleshooting guide to track down any connection issues.


12W Diode Laser Test Results

– 3mm Plywood. For the first test, I ran both an engraving and a cut. The engraving was set to 60% power at 6000 mm/min using a fill pattern, followed by a cut at 100% power and 500 mm/min. The 12W diode handled both tasks impressively, producing a clean engrave and a precise cut. I would expect performance to improve even further with a honeycomb bed, especially for airflow during cutting.

– 5mm Plywood. For the second test, I moved on to a thicker 5mm wood sample to see how the 12W diode handled a more demanding cut. I set the engraving to 80% power at 6000 mm/min, then switched to 100% power at 200 mm/min for the cut. Once again, it cut cleanly and without hesitation, showing that this laser is capable of handling thicker materials with ease.

– Leather Keyring. For the third test, I switched to engraving a leather keyring. This one required a bit more care, not because of the laser’s capability, but because the curved shape of the keyring can throw off the focus. A few small magnets would easily solve that by holding it flat. Even so, the engraving came out beautifully and makes a great personalised gift idea. For this test, I used 50% power at 6000 mm/min.

– Aluminium Business Card. For the fourth test, I engraved an aluminium business card. This was a very quick engrave, but it still shows that the machine is capable of handling detailed images or wording. The settings I used were 50% power and 6000 mm/min speed.

– Scratch Paper. For the fifth test, I tried engraving a scratch card. These cards work by removing the top coating to reveal a rainbow-coloured layer underneath. For this test, I chose to engrave an image of my late Chihuahua, Teddy, who passed away a few years ago. The result came out beautifully and really highlights how creative you can get with this material. For this engraving, I used 20% power at 7000 mm/min.

– Slate Coaster. For the sixth and final diode-laser test, I chose to engrave a piece of slate. Slate consistently produces a beautiful finish and can capture fine detail in both images and text. Slowing the engrave can also av中文字幕潮喷人妻系列 a deeper mark, giving the artwork a subtle 3D effect. Once again, I engraved an image of my Chihuahua, Teddy, and the result came out brilliantly. For this test, I used 80% power at 6000 mm/min, opting for a lighter pass due to the complexity of the design.

1.2W IR Laser Test Results

– Stainless Steel Dog Tag. For this test, I only ran the IR laser on a single item, as no dedicated IR-compatible consumables were included. I had a metal dog tag available, which still provided a good indication of the IR module’s performance. I used 100% power at 4000 mm/min, and the result was excellent. Some light cleanup is needed afterward, as the process leaves a bit of debris around the engraved area, but the overall finish was spot-on.

The Z-offset is calibrated during this process, followed by vibration compensation and pressure advance tuning. The full 18freexxxxtubehd18 typically takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete and can be restarted at any time via the touchscreen settings menu. Re18freexxxxtubehd18 is also recommended after any firmware update.

Thanks to the enclosed structure, preconfigured firmware, and clear setup instructions, users can move from unboxing to printing within a short time.

Software – Elegoo Slicer Settings

The Elegoo Centauri Carbon is compatible with the Elegoo slicer, which is based on the Orca engine with added presets and connectivity for Elegoo-branded machines. The slicer includes pre-configured profiles for the Centauri Carbon, helping users get started quickly without adjusting advanced parameters.

For this article, all prints were prepared using the default Centauri Carbon profile. Minor adjustments were made to optimize print speeds. In particular, inner wall speeds were set to 300 mm/s and outer walls to 250 mm/s to align with the printer’s high-speed capability while maintaining consistent quality.

The software provides essential features such as tree supports, ironing, variable layer height, and direct Wi-Fi file transfer to the printer when connected on the same network. Model previews and time estimates proved reliable during our testing, especially for multi-hour prints that covered most of the build plate.

For users more comfortable with alternative slicers like OrcaSlicer, it’s also possible to export G-code manually.

Overall, Elegoo’s slicer is easy to use and well-suited for both first-time users and experienced makers looking for quick integration with Centauri Carbon hardware.

Test Prints and Results

To evaluate real-world performance, we tested the Elegoo Centauri Carbon using a range of functional and decorative models. This character model took approximately 4.5 hours to print using a 0.2 mm layer height, 35% infill, and painted-on tree supports for floating sections. This print featured intricate bridging and fine walls, designed specifically to test slicer algorithms and cooling. Printed in 4 hours using 0.24 mm layer height and Arachne-based wall detection (no supports or brim), the model turned out clean and intact. The machine maintained print quality even with extended bridging distances and delicate details.

Across all test models, the Centauri Carbon delivered consistent layer lines and dependable adhesion on both sides of the PEI build plate. I found the CANVAS upgrade fairly easy to put together, with assembly taking around 1 hour and 10 minutes. The overall quality feels similar to the CC2, and once set up, the multicolor prints came out as expected. A multicolor Benchy took around 3 hours, while a two-color bear model took around 7 hours.

There are a few practical notes to keep in mind. Filament changes at the print head are not especially quick, and I did have to restart one print after running out of material. Larger multicolor jobs can also take a long time, with the Nostalgic 3D Models flexible Gandalf print taking around 30 hours to complete. Before printing, the vat needs to be filled with resin. The usable capacity is close to one liter, though the exact fill level depends on the build plate position and the vat’s shape. Pouring resin with the build plate lowered is a sensible approach, as it reduces the risk of overfilling once the plate returns to its home position.

For this hands-on test, vat preheating was enabled to raise the resin from around 19 °C to 25 °C. During this stage, the build plate moves gently to help distribute the heat evenly through the resin. Software – The All-New Photon Workshop 4.0

The software I used during testing was the new Photon Workshop 4.0. I haven’t used an Anycubic resin slicer in a while, and this update is a clear step forward. Slicing felt smooth and efficient, and the ability to select your resin type—automatically applying the correct parameters—makes the workflow noticeably faster, taking you from slice to print with minimal effort.

Test Printing Results

For my first test print, I used the default settings for the standard resin, selected through the Anycubic slicer. The model I used was the 18freexxxxtubehd18 model found on the USB supplied with the printer itself. Always a good way to test the printer is functioning correctly before doing more complex prints. For the second print, I moved on to a set of favourite models from Nostalgic3D. These pre-supported Simpsons LOTR Version 3 models were printed in standard Anycubic grey resin. The results showed strong detail reproduction across the characters, with fine features and surfaces carrying through nicely from the digital files to the finished prints.

Model 3 – Free Elemental Spirit Models

For the third print, I used the Free Elemental Spirit STL Pack by Creature Craftworks. These models were printed in two parts, with the main figure and lower display platform separated. They filled the build plate effectively and once again highlighted the Photon P1’s ability to reproduce sharp details and clean surfaces on more artistic display pieces.

The Jayo J1 FilaDryer arrives with everything you need to get started. Inside the box, you will find the main drying unit, a storage chamber, a combined hygrometer and desiccant module, and a small set of parts for the spool rollers.

Begin by assembling the two bottom rollers and their bearings. Slide a bearing onto each end of the rollers, then seat the rollers into the lower section of the storage unit.

Next, insert the hygrometer module into the front of the storage box (the section with the clear display window). It slides into place and also houses the desiccant container.

Place the desiccant pack into its container. The included desiccant changes colour as it absorbs moisture, which makes it easy to see when it has been working and when it may need recharging or replacement.

Finally, install the filament holder into the centre section of the unit so the spool is supported correctly during drying and printing.

Once assembled, the dryer can be used as a standalone drying station or as a feed-through dryer while printing. The heating base houses the controls for temperature and timer settings.

Stackable Storage Capabilities

Even when stacked, the front-mounted hygrometers remain visible, making it easy to check humidity across chambers at a glance. One downside is that there is no physical latch between units, so you will want to keep the stack on a stable surface.

Safety and Thermal Cutoff

The Jayo J1 includes thermal protection designed to reduce risk during longer drying sessions. The unit incorporates a hardware-level thermal cutoff intended to shut down heating if temperatures exceed safe operating limits, acting independently of the software control system.

Testing (Wood PLA Benchy)

Wood-based PLA blends are extremely prone to absorbing moisture, far more than standard PLA. When they take on water, steam pockets form during extrusion, causing bubbling, stringing, and rough surface texture. Proper drying is the quickest way to bring print quality back under control.

To demonstrate the impact, I printed two identical Benchies using the same gcode. The first print was done straight from the spool without drying. The second was printed after drying the filament for six hours in the Jayo J1, then storing it in the sealed chamber to reduce reabsorption.

Following the six-hour drying cycle, the humidity reading dropped significantly, and the print quality improved with fewer visible artefacts, smoother surfaces, and more consistent extrusion.

Setup and 18freexxxxtubehd18

So, the 屁屁影院入口 GK3 Pro shows up fully assembled, which is already a win. No messing around with bolts or brackets—just unbox it, plug it in, and you’re nearly there.

First things first, I placed it on a flat, stable surface with good ventilation. The Wi-Fi antenna needed a quick twist to install, and then I connected the power cable and flipped the switch on the back. The touchscreen fired up right away, and the interface was clean and responsive.

The resin vat comes pre-installed with a CPFA film, and the build plate is already mounted. I gave everything a once-over to make sure it was snug and level. If you want to double-check the leveling, there’s a guided 18freexxxxtubehd18 tool right on the screen—it’s quick and intuitive.

Next, I popped in the USB drive to access the test files and firmware. I connected the printer to Wi-Fi through the touchscreen, then downloaded the 屁屁影院入口 slicer and the Smart App. If there’s a firmware update, it’ll prompt you—definitely worth doing before your first print.

For resin setup, I poured it into the vat using the included funnel and filter. The GK3 Pro has smart resin level detection and auto-feeding if you’re using their cartridges, which is a nice touch. I also tested the resin heating feature—it brought the resin up to temp in about 30–35 minutes, which is great if your workspace runs cold.

Design Features

One of the standout mechanical features on the GK3 Pro is its linear rail system on the Z-axis, paired with a ball screw drive. That combo gives the printer a serious edge when it comes to layer consistency and vertical stability—especially important when you’re pushing ultra-fine detail with a 16K screen.

Compared to cheaper resin printers that rely on single rods or less rigid guides, this setup virtually eliminates Z-wobble, even on taller prints. You get clean layer transitions, sharper edges, and fewer artifacts—especially noticeable on miniatures, dental models, or anything with tight tolerances.

The ball screw mechanism adds another layer of precision. It’s smoother and more accurate than lead screws, which means less backlash and better repeatability across multiple prints. That’s a big deal if you’re running batches or prototyping parts that need to fit together.

From a maintenance standpoint, the rails are low-friction and durable, so you’re not constantly re-lubing or adjusting tension. And because the GK3 Pro is fully enclosed, dust and resin fumes aren’t constantly settling on the motion system, which helps keep things clean and consistent over time.


Smart Resin Feed System

The GK3 Pro takes a lot of the hassle out of resin handling with its smart resin feed system. Instead of manually topping up the vat mid-print, the printer can automatically draw resin from a connected bottle, keeping the level consistent throughout the job. That’s a big deal if you’re running large prints or back-to-back batches—you don’t have to babysit the machine or risk a failed print due to low resin.

I found the interface clean and familiar, especially if you’ve used PrusaSlicer before, but with added control over things like support pad thickness, lift speeds, and exposure settings.

For me, it’s a solid slicer that balances flexibility with ease of use, and it’s nice to see a manufacturer actually invest in software that complements their hardware.

Test Printing Results

For my first test print, I used the default settings from the 屁屁影院入口 slicer at 0.05 mm precision mode and ran the 屁屁影院入口 test card found on the USB drive.

As shown in the image below, the lettering and geometric features came out crisp and well-defined, and the coin provides a clear sense of scale relative to the printer’s resolution.


Model Test Print 2 – Oni Mask

For my second test print, I wanted to push the GK3 Pro a bit further—so I loaded up an Oni mask STL file from STLFLIX to see how it handled more complex geometry and surface detail. I used the same basic slicer settings from the 屁屁影院入口 Slicer, just to keep things consistent.

The results were impressive: crisp edges, smooth contours, and no visible layer shifts. It’s a great showcase for how well the printer handles organic shapes and fine textures, even without dialing in custom exposure settings, using the beautiful red clear resin from Sunlu.

Initial Overview

The Original Prusa XL didn’t arrive in a thousand pieces, thankfully—but it still asked us to roll up our sleeves to install the screen, toolheads, and spool holders. Challenge accepted. There are, of course, a few versions of the Prusa XL—from unassembled to semi-assembled, and with one to five toolheads—depending on what you choose at checkout.

The version we’re reviewing today is the semi-assembled 5-toolhead model. Inside the box? A full toolkit, a handbook, a filament catalogue, stickers, and—because Prusa knows how to treat us—a jumbo bag of Haribo Gummy Bears. Yes, really. The Galaxy Black Prusament PLA spool gleams like obsidian, and the USB stick is packed with ready-to-print models to get you started straight out of the gate.

The build of the machine is a thoughtful blend of steel, aluminum, and PETG-printed components, striking a balance between durability and precision. Prusa clearly prioritized robust construction, and it shows. The linear rails ensure smooth, consistent motion across all axes—though it’s worth noting that the design features only two Z-axis motors, which may raise eyebrows for those expecting triple-Z stability on a printer of this scale.

Prusa has stuck with its classic look—black frame, orange accents, and logos right where you’d expect them: on the toolhead and back panel. The Bowden tubes arch neatly over the top, and spool holders sit on both sides for balance. The open front makes it easy to reach in and grab your prints, and those LED strips along the top edges? They’re a great addition for keeping an eye on your progress or getting crisp lighting for timelapses.

Assembly & 18freexxxxtubehd18 Process

We must admit — the Prusa Research team consistently provides excellent assembly instructions for all their products, and the official Prusa XL assembly guide is no exception.

In this article, I challenged myself to av中文字幕潮喷人妻系列 a step-by-step assembly walkthrough based on my own experience with the 5-toolhead version. By scrolling through this section, I hope to give you a clear glimpse of what’s involved in getting this machine up and running.

– Step 1: Screen Installation – Note: Starting from September 2024, you may receive a new injection-molded xLCD. Check the photos and identify your version, for me it’s the Injection moulded version. You will require the xLCD assembly (1x) & M3x10 screw (2x) to carry this out. First, connect the xLCD cable to the slot on the xLCD board, and then push the grounding connector fully into the PE faston, as shown in the image below.

– Step 2: Connecting Screen to Unit – Align the xLCD assembly with the nuts in the front aluminum extrusion. Insert and tighten the M3x10 screws from the right side of the xLCD and then the left; the screen should be central to the unit.

– Step 3: Preparing the Printer – Reminder: To handle the printer, always grab the handles on both sides of the printer. Do not lift the printer by the aluminum extrusions or the metal sheet profiles on top. Place the empty cardboard box approximately to the front center part of the heatbed.

– Step 4: X-axis preparation – Manually move the X-axis assembly all the way to the front of the printer, and then manually move the X-carriage approximately to the center of the X-axis.

– Step 5: Guiding the nextruder cable – Carefully rotate the printer 180° so that the PSU (Power Supply Unit) side is facing you. Locate the long metal profile with five M3 holes inside the rear aluminum extrusion. Use all M3 holes in the metal profile.

– Step 6: Installation of the Nextruder bay 1 (Repeat this process for all 5 bays) – Place the xl-dock-cable-router on the bottom metal sheet below the aluminium extrusion on the right side of the printer.

Locate the protruding screw from the XL-dock-cable-router. Attach the screw to the first M3 hole in the long metal profile (tch-mounting-insert). Check through the hole in the rear if the cable holder is lined up with the hole. Push the 2.5 mm Allen key all the way through the hole in the rear metal sheet until you reach the middle screw in the xl-dock-cable-router and tighten the screw.

– Step 7: Dock inspection – This step is the same for all versions of the dock assembly. Check that the dock is properly tightened. The dock must not move. The dock is a press fit; the screw must be tightened firmly.

– Step 8: Third dock: removing the screw – This step is the same for all versions of the dock assembly. At this point, you should have already installed two docks. Locate the M3 screw in the metal insert. Using a 2.5mm Allen key, remove the screw from the metal insert (this was used as transport support only). Attach the third, fourth, and fifth docks the same way as the first two docks.

– Step 9: Wi-Fi antenna holder versions – Let’s connect the Wi-Fi antenna now. There are two versions of this component. Identify which version of the Wi-Fi antenna your printer has; in my case, it’s the back version. The antenna connector has to be assembled, and the Wi-fi antenna will be mounted in the middle of the rear side of the printer.

Slightly loosen two screws on the cover. No need to remove them completely. Slide the cover to the right and remove it from the printer.

Connect the first dock (from the right side) cable to the upper slot labeled ‘DWARF 1’. Connect the second dock (located on the right side) cable to the lower slot labeled ‘DWARF 2.’ Attach the connectors cover to the screws. Slide it to the left and tighten the screws. Make sure that the cables are not pinched or damaged

– Step 10: Removing the XL buddy box cover – Loosen four screws on the cover slightly. No need to remove them completely. Push the cover up and remove it from the printer.

– Step 11: Connecting the Nextuder cables – Do not take the XL-Splitter board out of the printer; the photo is only an illustration of the connector locations. Connect the third, fourth, and fifth (from the right) Nextruder to the XL-Splitter.

– Step 12: Put the XL-buddy-box-cover back on the printer. Check that the Nextruder cables are positioned inside the cutout in the cover. Use a T10 key to tighten the four screws.

– Step 13: Guiding the PTFE tubes – Locate the right filament sensor. Insert the first dock (from the right) PTFE tube into the upper hole, the second into the middle hole, and so on for all five Nextruders. Each one is clearly marked.

– Step 14: Connecting the Wi-Fi antenna – Locate the antenna connector in the middle of the printer. Screw the antenna on. It can be rotated and bent in two directions.

– Step 15: Spool holder assembly – For the injection-molded version, prepare the two parts and attach the spool holder to the mount. Insert the M5x85 screw into the assembly.

– Step 16: Nextruder assembly – As this is a 5-toolhead version, repeat this process four more times. Take the Nextruder and carefully place it next to the dock. Insert the two metal rods through the white holes in the dock. Magnets will help lock it in.

– Step 17: Nextruder cable connection – This step is the same for all five toolheads. Loosen the two highlighted screws. Hook the keyhole openings in the flexible plate of the cable bundle onto the screw heads, push it into position, and tighten both screws using a T10 Torx screwdriver.

– Step 18: Connect the cable bundle – Secure it with two screws. Insert the semi-transparent PTFE tube into the Nextruder fitting and push it in fully.

– Step 19: Assemble and connect all Nextruders using the same process. Your printer should now look like this if you have the 5-toolhead setup.

– Step 20: Preparing the printer for 18freexxxxtubehd18 – Turn on the printer.

– Step 21: Dock pin removal – Follow the wizard instructions on screen. Using a mini wrench, unscrew and remove both dock pins on Dock 1. You’ll need them again soon.

– Step 22: Loosen two screws with a universal wrench. A few turns are enough — don’t remove them entirely.

– Step 23: Locking the tool – Carefully move the toolchanging mechanism to the first (leftmost) toolhead and manually lock the metal bars as shown. Repeat this for all five toolheads.

– Step 23 (continued): Tighten the upper screw on the side of the dock using a universal wrench. After confirming on the screen, the XY axis will move. Ensure there are no obstructions.

– Step 24: Insert and secure both metal pins using a mini wrench. Click “Continue” on the screen. The printer will return the tool to Dock 1 and run 18freexxxxtubehd18 moves. Repeat this for all toolheads.

– Step 25: Loadcell test – This test will be repeated for each toolhead. After the countdown, gently tap the nozzle when prompted. If the touch isn’t detected, you’ll be asked to repeat the step.

– Step 26: Proceed to the Z-axis and nozzle heater tests. These are automatic and require minimal input.

– Step 27: Calibrate filament sensors – The printer may ask if you want to remap the third sensor. Choose LEFT if space is limited on the right. Use at least 130 cm of filament. Use the included Prusament and mount it on the spool holder.

– Step 27 (continued): Insert the filament through the PTFE tube into the side sensor until you feel slight resistance. You can monitor the sensor status on the bottom of the screen. Remove the filament when prompted. Repeat this for all toolheads.

– Step 28: After successfully calibrating all five filament sensors, the printer will begin tool offset 18freexxxxtubehd18.

– Step 29: Offset 18freexxxxtubehd18 – Prepare the 18freexxxxtubehd18 pin and pin key. Insert the pin into the plastic holder to av中文字幕潮喷人妻系列 a small protrusion.

– Step 30: Screw the 18freexxxxtubehd18 pin into the center of the heatbed and click “Continue” to begin tool offset 18freexxxxtubehd18.

– Step 31: Install the print sheet if it’s not already on the heatbed. The printer will then perform a short 18freexxxxtubehd18.

– Step 32: Clean the nozzles and parking plate before continuing. Remove the print sheet, install the 18freexxxxtubehd18 pin into the bed, and remove the key.

– Step 33: Begin tool offsets 18freexxxxtubehd18. Replace the print sheet if prompted. After completion, the printer will automatically start the heatbed heater check.

– Step 34: Phase stepping 18freexxxxtubehd18 – This automatic process reduces motor vibration. The printer will move the first toolhead diagonally across the bed at varying speeds. You’ll see the vibration reduction results displayed at the end.

That’s the full setup completed. Now you’re ready to carry out your first print.


Test Prints

Test Print 1: Benchy

I kicked off the first print test using the classic Benchy file found on the included USB stick. It wrapped up in about 25 minutes with very little filament waste. While the print leaned more toward speed than fine detail, the results were solid for a first pass. Visually, the yellow and Prusament Galaxy Black filament combo really popped — especially that shimmering black finish.

This quick Benchy run confirmed that the Prusa XL’s multi-toolhead system can deliver clean color changes and reliable output. A great warm-up before diving into larger and more demanding prints.


Test Print 2: Large Dog Model

For my second test, I went all in with the massive Dog model to push the printer to its full build volume and assess its performance over extended print durations. The file was conveniently included on the Supplied USB key. This single-color print took approximately 24 hours and turned out beautifully, thanks to Eryone’s dual-color filament from Amazon (Check their awesome dual and tri-color collection). Despite its size, the model felt surprisingly light. Most impressively, the printer completed the job without requiring any intervention.

This large-scale dog model perfectly showcased the Prusa XL’s ability to handle extended, full-build-volume prints with ease. The consistent quality from start to finish — without any pauses or user intervention — reinforces the XL’s reliability for ambitious, time-intensive projects.


Test Print 3: Pikachu Avengers

For my third test, I wanted to try something fun and detailed, so I turned to one of my go-to Patreon creators, Nostalgic3DModels, and selected the Pikachu Avengers model. I sliced the file using PrusaSlicer at the standard 0.2 mm layer height with tree supports, then used the color selection tool to assign a total of four colors.

The model printed for approximately 25 hours and stood around 8 inches tall. I was genuinely impressed — the color transitions were clean, purging waste was nearly non-existent, and the overall quality far exceeded my expectations. This print really proved how enjoyable multi-material printing can be when you pair the right model with the right machine.


Test Print 4: Multi-Color Cogwheel

For my fourth and final test, I decided to once again use one of the supplied models from the USB card. The cogwheel was a great choice to challenge the printer’s tolerances, especially with multiple color changes. The print took approximately five hours to complete and, once again, produced minimal filament waste.

A total of two colors were used — Prusament Galaxy Black and Creality’s PLA Pink. After completion, I tested the cogwheel, and the parts moved exactly as intended. It performed perfectly.

In the world of 3D printing, heat press guns are a go-to tool for assembling parts using heated brass inserts. However, achieving consistent precision — especially in repeatable tasks — has always been a challenge.

Mintion’s newly released Heat Press Kit addresses this issue with a user-friendly, easy-to-set-up solution designed for accuracy and versatility. The kit includes:

Setup Process

Installation of the Mintion Heat Press Kit is straightforward using the provided guide. Below are the eight main steps with visual references for each stage of assembly.

Step 1: Connect the extrusion to the base using one round hex screw. Tighten with the supplied Allen key.

Step 2: Slide the main heat gun unit over the extrusion. It should move freely. If it’s too tight or too loose, adjust the eccentric wheel on the runner.

Step 3: Attach the heat gun to the clamp and tighten the two screws using the supplied screwdriver.

Step 4: Connect the handle to the retractable unit using the clip. Push the clip firmly into place.

Step 5: Mount the combined handle and retractable unit to the top of the extrusion. Secure with the second round hex screw and Allen key.

Step 7: Install the two cable clips using the supplied double-sided tape. Attach to the two marked spots on the frame.

Step 8: Select your preferred heat tip (e.g., M3) and carefully screw it into the heating element. Avoid cross-threading.

Once fully assembled, the Mintion Heat Press Kit feels sturdy and well-balanced. The guided setup ensures even beginners can get started quickly with minimal guesswork.


Testing

So for the testing phase I wanted to carry out the process of installing the heat inserts both manually and using the Mintion Heat Press kit, to see if there was a marked improvement on final product and repeatability test.

Initial Overview

The AlgoLaser Pixi is a compact diode laser engraver designed for entry-level users and hobbyists working in limited spaces. With a small footprint and lightweight frame, it is easy to set up and operate. It supports a range of common materials, including wood, leather, acrylic, and anodized aluminum.

Its 5W output and 100 × 100 mm work area suit small and detailed projects. Construction is solid for its class, with stable mechanics that help maintain alignment and consistent output.

The onboard software is functional, but for complex designs, Lightburn remains a strong option. For this review, the tests were carried out using only the built-in AlgoOS interface.

Overall, the Pixi is a beginner-friendly laser that is surprisingly capable for its size. With pre-installed projects, touchscreen control, and a fully enclosed design, it is a good introduction to digital fabrication.

The Pixi includes a red protective enclosure that helps block stray laser light and improve safety. The lid has an interlock that disables the laser when it is open or tilted. The unit height can be adjusted by repositioning the legs using pre-drilled holes and screws, which helps when working with taller or bulkier materials.

A rotary tool can be added for cylindrical objects. The machine has a dedicated rear port for the rotary. After connecting the cables, switch the machine to ARR Roller Mode and apply the recommended settings. The Quick Start Guide could provide clearer Pixi-specific rotary steps, but setup is manageable with a brief check of the manual.

The unit’s height can be adjusted by repositioning the legs using a set of pre-drilled holes and screws. This allows users to accommodate taller or bulkier materials that might not fit under the standard enclosure, offering greater flexibility for a variety of engraving projects.

Rotary Attachment

The unit also features the ability to add a Rotary tool, and during my testing phase I will also carry out some functional tests with this attachment, this was added as part of my review but can be purchased at an additional cost, in the pack you will receive connections, tools and instructions. This Rotary tool can also be used on other brands of lasers with the additional wiring.

Installing the rotary attachment was fairly straightforward, though I did have to check the manual and figure out a few steps on my own. The machine has a dedicated port on the back for connecting the rotary, so once I plugged in the cables, things started to make sense.

The main challenge I faced was realizing I needed to switch the machine into ARR Roller Mode and tweak some settings for it to work correctly.

I think the Quick Start Guide should include more specific instructions for Pixi models. The Lightburn settings it provides are useful, but there should be clearer guidance on how to set up and use the rotary attachment with the Pixi.


Touchscreen and UI

Powered by the AlgoOS 2.4 the on-screen guide walks you through the setup process, and once that’s complete, you have full control over the unit without needing to connect it to a computer—a major selling point for me in a portable desktop laser. The display is very user-friendly, with clear sections for different categories.

At the top of the main display screen, several icons visually indicate the laser’s status, such as Wi-Fi connection, SD card presence, USB connection, and any error notifications.

Design and Material Capabilities

The Algolaser Pixi features advanced laser technology that produces a fine laser spot as small as 0.03mm. This allows for highly precise cutting and engraving with an accuracy of 0.01mm, making it ideal for detailed projects like jewelry or model-making.

Pixi can cut and engrave over 300 types of materials, including:
• Wood: Cuts up to 13mm plywood and 20mm pine wood
• Leather: Suitable for detailed leather crafting
• Paper & Cardboard: Perfect for prototypes and creative projects

Focusing the laser is straightforward with Pixi’s manual Z-axis adjustment knob. Users can quickly set the focus without tools, and the included focus tool ensures precise cutting and engraving results.

Pixi is a Class 1 laser device, featuring a fully enclosed design and a lock screen for safety, making it suitable for use at home, in schools, or workshops.

The user interface makes the operation simple. You can drag your design file onto the screen, position it easily, and fine-tune placement with on-screen controls for precise alignment.

Pixi also includes over-the-air (OTA) updates via its AlgoOS touchscreen system. This means it automatically downloads and installs software updates to keep the machine current and running smoothly.

The Pixi can be used in a safe and responsible manner with the inbuilt enclosure, exhaust pipe and connection, providing a way to remove harmful fumes away from the user and environment. If you have a fume extraction unit this will be even more useful.

Software – AlgoOS

All testing in this review was done with AlgoOS. The interface was responsive and reliable, making it easy to locate projects, run 18freexxxxtubehd18, and update firmware with over-the-air updates. Lightburn compatibility is available, but it was not covered in these tests.

Test Results

Engraving on Birch Plywood

For my first engraving test, I decided to use one of the pre-supplied images already loaded onto the Pixi. The built-in material selection and engraving colour scale made it easy to choose the finish I wanted. The interface shows how speed and power affect the outcome. Faster speeds with lower power produce lighter images, while slower speeds and higher power give a deeper burn.

For this test, I went with a mid-range setting, and the image engraved perfectly. The whole process took around five minutes from start to finish.

Engraving Leather

For my second engraving test, I selected a pre-installed image of a tiger. I chose “Scratch Leather” from the GreatCarve Scratch Leather Kit—premium laser-ready leather with a dual-layer design. When engraved, the top layer burns away to reveal a contrasting underlayer, creating a striking effect. Once again, I used the material selection tool on the Pixi and went with a mid-range speed and power to achieve a deeper engraving.

In addition to engraving, I also tested the cut function. You simply select the desired cut depth on-screen, and the software adjusts speed and power automatically. However, since the lowest depth available was 1 mm and the leather was only around 0.2 mm thick, it caused a bit of edge burning. Despite that, the overall process was smooth and easy to follow using the built-in guide.


Rotary Laser Engraving

For my third project, I connected the rotary tool to the Pixi. This required raising the lid height as outlined earlier, and plugging the rotary unit into the dedicated port at the back of the machine. Once everything was in place, I changed the operation mode to Rotary from the selection screen.

I used the Algotype feature to enter the brand logo and engraved it onto a paint-coated metal bottle. I selected the “Coated Aluminium” material setting and aligned the laser to the center of the bottle. After a few adjustments, the final result came out brilliantly—as shown in the image above.

For my fourth project, I decided to laser engrave some aluminum cards using the Algotype function. I typed in the desired wording directly on the touchscreen, added the brand name, and selected the correct dimensions for the card. As with the previous projects, I also chose the appropriate material preset from the list—this time selecting the aluminum option.

The Pixi handled the task smoothly. The engraving came out clean and precise, with no issues during the process. It was another great example of how effective the built-in UI can be for quick, computer-free projects.

Assembly and Setup

The EIBOS Series X Tetras is designed for a straightforward upgrade of the Bambu Lab AMS. With clearly labeled parts and step-by-step visuals in the manual, the entire process is beginner-friendly and tool-light.

Overview and Prep

After unboxing, begin by reviewing the layout diagrams provided in the product manual (front and rear views). Carefully handle components and lay them out for quick access.

Core Installation (AMS Integration)

1) Remove the AMS lid: Unscrew the 4 rear screws securing the AMS v1 top cover.

2) Attach the Tetras upper cover: Align it with the AMS and secure using the original screws.

3) Install support frames: Turn the AMS upside down (use included foam) and attach the 4 support frames to the base using M3 H8 screws. Ensure channels face outward.

4) Connect USB-C cables: Plug in the labeled cables — power module to rear, screen module to front, and heating station leads routed through the outer channels.

5) Attach modules: Secure the power module to the rear and the screen module to the front brackets using M3 H10 screws. Confirm no cables are pinched and all connections are firm.

6) Final connections: Complete all USB-C wiring: screens to front, power to rear, and long leads to heating stations.

7) Attach rubber feet: Place 4 on the front and 4 on the rear module brackets.

8) Assemble front baffle set: Clip the acrylic parts in this sequence: A (left), B, B (center), C (right).

9) Insert assembled baffles: Fit into their corresponding slots as per diagram.

10) Install middle baffles: Use the acrylic fixings to insert in the order: B, A, B.

Operating the Dryer

The display screen is much like previous Eibos dryer models and is easy to use with the simple layout.

The model I chose was the Happy Sitting Pot Horns Hand by TomoDesigns on MakerWorld. It was printed at 0.2 mm layer height using two color variants. Despite the filament’s exposure to ambient air, the result came out clean and consistent, showing that the drying system really makes a difference.

I printed the Rock People models by Blob Lab, found on Patreon, using multi-color filament.
