What is SMRRF?

Sanjay Mortimer RepRap Festival

– About Sanjay Mortimer. Sanjay Mortimer, a founding member of E3D, was a legendary figure in the industry, significantly contributing to the revolution of FDM 3D printing.

Sanjay tragically passed away on the 27th of December 2021. This triggered a chain of charity events in the 3D printing community. In a couple of years, the Sanjay Mortimer Foundation (SMF) got officially registered, and The Sanjay Mortimer RepRap Festival (SMRRF) took place in Oxford, UK for the first time.

– About RepRap Festivals. RepRap was invented by Adrian Bowyer in February 2004. The word RepRap is short for Replicating Rapid-prototyper – a self-copying 3D printer. As 3D printers became more accessible, more people joined the community and started celebrating the movement by organizing similarly named events. In the US, such 3D printing events are very popular. In our events table, you can find previous festivals with featured highlights and future festival dates.

As usual, we will update this guide and bring more content from year to year. Here is our brief coverage of the past SMRRFs.

SMRRF 2026 Highlights

by Max Funkner
SMRRF 2026 once again brought the RepRap community together at Manchester Metropolitan University for two packed days of makers, engineers, students, and companies celebrating 3D printing. The event welcomed around 1,300 visitors over the weekend, with 50 exhibitors and 36 content creators taking part. The Lord Mayor of Manchester also visited the festival. Continuing its mission to support the Sanjay Mortimer Foundation, the community raised an impressive £113,000 through fundraising activities. As always, SMRRF blended hands-on engineering, live demonstrations, and community shows, with highlights ranging from DeathRacer battles to industry leaders discussing the latest developments in desktop 3D printing.

Showcasing Technology Through Creator Projects

Events like SMRRF are a perfect place to showcase what modern 3D printing technology is capable of to both enthusiasts and newcomers. A good example was the Snapmaker U1 running live at the event, printing parts of the impressive fairytale land, castles, and a moving tram display by Fulv, which beautifully demonstrated the printer’s capabilities.

Fulv’s setup was exceptional, and it would be easy to lose hours there if I let my inner child run wild. After browsing Fulv’s models on Cults, I’m already tempted to print a few myself. I just need to unpack my Snapmaker U1 first.

DeathRacers Arena: From Kit to Battle

Almost a year ago, after seeing the countless DeathRacers shows shared by Sam Prentice, I couldn’t resist and got my hands on a DeathRacers kit from BigTreeTech. Building the machine turned into a fun journey that 中文+日韩+欧美电影d to several articles featuring different 3D printers and materials. At SMRRF 2026, the project finally culminated with my Piranha DeathRacer entering the arena and bravely taking part in three battles.

For those curious about the full journey, the nearly year-long story of building and evolving this DeathRacer can be followed through a chain of quote tweets on X, starting from the moment the kit arrived to the final battles at SMRRF 2026.

The small tracked machine held its ground well, surviving all three rounds with only minor cosmetic damage and adjusting/tightening gears needed. Like many projects showcased at SMRRF, the DeathRacer perfectly captured the spirit of the event: creative engineering, friendly competition, and a lot of fun.

Live Shows and Community Entertainment

Beyond the raffle draws, SMRRF 2026 also featured a series of live shows that kept the audience engaged throughout the weekend. One of the highlights was the Ultimate Additive Manufacturing Quiz hosted by Joel Telling, also known as the 3D Printing Nerd. The quiz brought together makers, engineers, and enthusiasts to test their knowledge of additive manufacturing, with plenty of laughs and some excellent prizes for the winners. Another entertaining segment was ‘Heat in the Hot Seat hosted by Grant, 3D Musketeers, where participants, company representatives and content creators faced ‘hot’ questions and challenges, adding an extra layer of ‘souce’ to the festival atmosphere.

SMRRF 2023 Highlights

by Max Funkner
As I have visited many 3D printing trade shows before, in comparison, the biggest impression for me was the atmosphere. The SMRRF had such a friendly atmosphere that the festival felt like one big family. It was mind-blowing to see so many awesome creators and niche influencers in one place.

The image above is just a tiny part of all the creations that were on display at SMRRF. It is possible to see more creations by following the hashtags: #smrrf or #smrrf2023.

As writing and images are greatly limited in portraying what it feels like to be at SMRRF, I would recommend watching a short live stream by Alan and Mikoláš from Prusa 3D. It is impressive how they roam and feature creators and technology. It was also funny how Joel crashed their interview and highly praised Natalie 3DPrintBunny.

Death Racers by Sam Prentice

Apart from traditional fun – chatting with creators at their booths, Sam Prentice entertained the crowd with his Death Racers show. Death Racers are 3D printable robots that not just race but fight each other – obviously to the ‘death’. The atmosphere was very friendly, and Sam is a great showman. I still cannot believe how some of these robots managed to get to 3 rounds, as each round was total carnage, with robots losing their heads and other parts.

SMF Auction – by Joel Telling

If the first SMF Auction took place in June 2022 and was live-streamed on Jumblebee, raising £32,618, then this year’s auction, led by Joel Telling, was organized directly in one of the SMRRF halls and raised £21,130. It was interesting to take part in such an auction as the items are unique, signed, and even awarded by original creators. My first attempt to bid for the Commemorative T-shirt by Print City didn’t work as the bidding queue jumped and I accidentally missed the bid. I will try better next time!

Charity Stream by Grant from 3D Musketeers

Another charity stream event that generated more than $6000 via JustGiving was organized by Grant from 3D Musketeers. Namely, Grant offered to cut his hair during the livestream. It was super easy to participate in such an event by donating any amount. Grant became a celebrity of the SMRRF as so many people took selfies and group pictures with him.

Take Part and Win

This year, there were several interesting giveaways organized by tradeshow exhibitors. For example, KraussMaffei was giving away an iPad to everyone who took and shared a picture of their 3D printed pod. My curiosity and a bit of luck won me a prize. Generally speaking, I think the chances of winning are very high when participating in such giveaways.

I find such meeting pods to be very effective. It was quiet inside, as the pod provided a shelter for visitors at the busy and noisy tradeshow. I took the opportunity to send a couple of tweets right in the middle of the show without getting disturbed. The vibrant material colors and 3D printed lines were notable features.

Other notes:
– Mayku Multiplier. I was delighted to see the Mayku Multiplier, a pressure former, at the trade show. I had hoped to meet their Content Marketing Manager, Agustin Arroyo, in person, but he had to attend another event in Spain. Perhaps next year.

– MedTechExpo. Alongside TCT 3Sixty, another tech trade show, MedTech Expo, was organized by the TCT Group. Such a combination of trade shows helps to understand and compare the nature and scale of the industries involved. When visiting one, it’s very tempting to see what’s happening at the other. In the end, at the same venue, you learn about all aspects of innovative technologies.

– Media Partner. We were proud to cover TCT 3Sixty this year in our popular tables and send-outs. And it was pleasant to see the 白洁的性荡生活45章 logo added to the Media Partners stage.

Conclusion

This year at TCT 3Sixty we saw more manufacturer representatives compared to the last year. Companies trying to build their sales ground in the reseller-friendly UK. There have been a few product launches and many familiar faces.
A good indicator of things getting back to normal was that schools were back at TCT 3Sixty with the Inspired Minds initiative. Who knows, there might be quite a few amongst them to become the future R&D specialists for the AM industry.
We hope we gave you a taste of what TCT3Sixty 2022 was like. There are many highlights and videos available, please find them using hashtags #tct3sixty or #tctawards.

TCT 3Sixty 2021

This year, NEC Birmingham welcomed visitors to the rebranded show – TCT 3Sixty (previously TCT Show). With this new concept of a 360° vision, the organizers want to convey the message that this event covers all aspects of the 3D printing industry.
As we went through 2021, the general optimism was gradually growing. Many events still have an online “back-up”, but the need for in-person meetings and events is felt strongly. People started taking full advantage of the regional events. In the new reality, regional, rather than global, events may become more desired and effective, with more decision power given to the local managers.

Some of the featured at TCT3Sixty products: E3D Revo Nozzles, Creality Cr-30, Prusa SL1S Speed, 3Devo GP20 Shredder Hybrid

At this year’s event, it felt like everything came back to normal after a two-year break. There was buzzy activity around the booths, speakers giving presentations, interviews, showcases, and overall better than expected attendance.
In order to promote adoption, it is important to raise awareness. At TCT3Sixty 2021, both individuals and businesses got involved, saw the practical application of additive manufacturing, and hopefully found the needed solutions and moved forward towards adoption.

E3D Online

Rebranded E3D had a debut with a new nozzle system Revo which caught a lot of attention during the show and on social media. A UK-based team, creators of the sophisticated HotEnds and Extrusion systems, every year invite talented creators to showcase their own work at the E3D’s booth. This year James Bruton @XRobotsUK and Matt Denton @mantisrobot were at the stand demonstrating their creations.

Creality

If you have never seen belt 3D printers, then there was a chance to see one of them at TCT3Sixty where Creality featured the machine together with a new HALOT resin printer.

3devo

A company from the Netherlands, 3Devo, featured GP20 Shredder Hybrid – a plastic shredding system. Good to see that the plastic recycling and filament making innovations are coming through.

As usual, manufacturers keep the big news in secret and make announcements at such tradeshows. At this event, we saw quite a few product launches.
We hope we gave you a taste of what TCT3Sixty 2021 was like. There are many highlights and videos available, please find them using hashtags #tct3sixty or #tct3sixty2021.

TCT3Sixty 2020

An exciting announcement was made: TCT Show Birmingham is rebranding. What will this mean in terms of the profile of the exhibitors and attendees? We will find out soon enough, and this may be a very welcome breath of fresh air. The new TCT 3SIXTY will be aiming at

It is one focused on developing a real understanding across the industry of the potential of additive manufacturing and 3D printing technology, this deeper 360-degree understanding will increase adoption at all levels of design, engineering and manufacturing.

And this pledge hits the spot. One note that we constantly hear from the bigger industrial machine producers is that penetrating the manufacturing market is tough. Additive manufacturing adoption on an industrial and serial production scale has a serious stopper – it is hard to persuade traditional manufacturers to change their ways. This type of change will require investment, and manufacturing does not like disruption.
Educating the industries that may benefit from adopting additive manufacturing in the certain segments of the process is essential for success. Creating “new users” will take time and effort, and this initiative from TCT may play its part.

TCT Show 2019

TCT Show in Birmingham is the only European standalone event of TCT Group. It brings together 3D printer and materials manufacturers in both desktop and industrial spaces. Here, there are traditionally more exhibits for the curious and early learners. As part of the partnership with 白洁的性荡生活45章 Education, around 300 young students were busy in the training hub this year.

As always, TCT Birmingham offers participation in talks and presentations, taking place on the Tech Stage and on TCT Introducing Stage. Of course, what the exhibitors pay for and are looking for is making business. Although, this year we witnessed a bit of the shrinkage in manufacturers’ presence, with a quite generous lounge space on the grounds, we hear that some of the major players were happy with the results.

TCT Show 2018

TCT Show 2018 proved to be as busy as ever, with noticeably more exhibitors showcasing their models. It was fun to see all those makes and samples. Star Wars Storm Trooper was greeting the visitors close to the entrance, adding to the sense of excitement upon arrival. A big part of the exhibition was dedicated to the industrial class machines, but there was plenty of interesting stuff to see for everyone.

Here we watched E3D Online Tool Changer demonstrating its ability to change its tools continuously. For the first time we saw the Blackbelt3D station in action.

Blackbelt Station - 3D Printer - TCTShow 2018

3devo displayed a filament shredder together with the filament-making machine. This gives us hope that soon enough every 3D printing enthusiast will be able to recycle unwanted prints and other plastic at home.

Prusa Research had three recently publicised items on display: MMU2, SLA 3D printer and Prusament Filament. It seems that lately 3D printer manufacturers have developed a trend for putting their own branded filament on the market.

Like in the previous year, TCT Show hosted classes for the younger visitors. The educational corner is now an integral part of the event, where a new generation is nurtured into the world of 3D printing.

TCT Show 2017

In 2017 TCT Show once again brought together 3D printer producers showcasing their newest upgrades. There were quite a few stands with filament producers promoting their new materials. We noticed that more and more material producers are focusing on eco-friendly solutions. During the event one could listen to inspiring keynote presentations, including from such giants as McLaren (F1), attend workshops, talk directly to decision-makers for business purposes.

Additional Note

You don’t have to be a professional to visit this 3D printing event. We observed groups of school children excitedly learning about additive manufacturing and viewing unique models. 3D software developers keep pushing the limits constantly surprising the audience with the abilities of 3D design.

One must not underestimate the role of 3D printing services companies in making this technology accessible to the general public. If you are planning to visit, we’d like to assure you that the location is very convenient for travel. The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) is right next to Birmingham International Airport and the rail station.

The 3D Printing Industry Awards go beyond recognising categories and winners. They provide a recurring moment for the additive manufacturing community to come together and reflect on progress across the industry. An expert committee and an open, discussion-driven process bring together engineers, founders, researchers, manufacturers, resellers, creators, and long-time industry voices. This collective input helps shape a shared view of what matters most in 3D printing.

This guide takes you inside the 3DPI Awards experience, exploring how the awards work, why they matter to the industry, and what makes them a meaningful meeting point for the 3D printing community, whether you are an engineer, designer, startup, manufacturer, or member of the media.

Table of Contents

What Are the 3DPI Awards?

The 3D Printing Industry Awards #3DPIAwards are an annual industry celebration recognising standout work across additive manufacturing. Depending on the year, categories can span hardware, materials, software, applications, and broader contributions that shape the AM ecosystem.

First launched in the late 2010s, the 3D Printing Industry Awards have grown into a well-established annual reference point for the additive manufacturing sector. Over time, the awards have mirrored the industry’s evolution across a broad range of technologies, applications, and industry segments.

How the 3DPI Awards Are Shaped

At the centre of the 3DPI Awards is Michael Petch and the team at 3dprintingindustry.com. His contribution goes far beyond hosting an awards programme. Over time, he has helped build a framework that genuinely brings the 3D printing community together and encourages shared understanding across the industry.

Collage of 3D Printing Industry Awards expert committee members representing the global 3D printing community
A visual snapshot of the diverse expert committee involved in the 3D Printing Industry Awards, highlighting the voices and experience contributing to the process.

Over my 10 years of experience in 3D printing, I have seen how valuable it is to participate in the expert committee process. These discussions often extend well beyond the awards themselves. At trade shows and industry events, it becomes much easier to start meaningful conversations, even when coming from very different perspectives, such as desktop and industrial systems, hardware and software, or startups and global manufacturers. We tend to share the same interests and overlapping networks. By bringing people together and encouraging open discussion during scoring matrix sessions, Michael plays a key role in making these connections possible.

Matrices and Voting: How Does it Work?

The 3D Printing Industry Awards use a blended approach that combines public participation with expert committee input. In practice, the community takes part through public nominations and voting, while an expert committee supports the process to help ensure categories are evaluated with broader context beyond popularity alone. For the most up to date details, see the official nomination announcement and the expert committee overview on 3D Printing Industry.

A behind-the-scenes look at a 2024 working session discussing scoring criteria for the 3D Printing Industry Awards, highlighting the collaborative and discussion-driven nature of the process.

Michael Petch, Grant Posner @3DMusketeers, Vicky Somma @TGAW, and I spent a dedicated meeting session reviewing and discussing scoring matrices, debating criteria, and challenging assumptions. These kinds of discussions offer a different perspective on the industry as a whole.

Another valuable aspect is that Michael gathers insights from these sessions and uses them to refine scoring matrices for future awards. By participating in this process, contributors help shape how the awards continue to evolve.

Industry Perspectives on the 3DPI Awards

To better reflect how the 3DPI Awards are perceived across the industry, we asked contributors and industry voices to share their perspective on what the awards represent and why they matter.

“The 3D Printing Industry Awards are a great snapshot of the progress in the additive manufacturing industry, spanning hardware, software, applications, and the key people behind them.

These awards are a powerful way to recognize the standout success stories in the ever-expanding additive manufacturing industry.” – Andrew Sink, Carbon.

“The 3D Printing Industry Awards are by the community and for the community. Comprised of users, SME’s, manufacturers, and even large company representatives, the committees are hand chosen to enable providing a spotlight on those that stand out. But the group is more than JUST those that choose who is the best in each category, the group is full of familiar faces who all work together to move the industry in the right direction. As they say, a rising tide lifts all benchies, no matter what their composition!

The additive space is experiencing amazing growth in the past few years and these awards help highlight those that do better, that challenge the norm, and that set the standard in their own categories. It also highlights the newcomers and the seasoned veterans in DIFFERENT CATEGORIES, so the startups are not competing directly against industry giants, it levels the playing field and gives companies, manufacturers, value adding resellers, etc. all an opportunity to be recognized for the amazing work they do in bringing this industry to the new layer heights we achieve year after year.” – Grant Posner, 3D Musketeers.

“For years now the 3DPI awards have brought together the best representatives from across the industry to help celebrate the latest achievements in AM. These awards are truly for industry professionals by industry professionals. Anyone could just decide to hand out awards as they saw fit, but the democratic nomination and voting process facilitated by 3DPI is such a unique and refreshing approach and it has been such an honor to be part of it these past few years.” – Alan Puccinelli, Strategic Partnerships, Prusa Research.

Formnext has established itself as the key 3D printing industry event, and it is well known for innovations. Additive manufacturers are holding off from making their announcements until it’s the right time and place. And this trade show is the best setting to attract a lot of attention. Every year 3D printer manufacturers showcase new products and technologies. Some may be an enhancement or a new solution, but a few could lead to a real breakthrough.

Table of Contents

What is Formnext?

Formnext is the leading international exhibition and conference dedicated to additive manufacturing and industrial 3D printing. The event represents the entire value chain of the additive manufacturing sector, from software and materials to machines and end-use applications. Formnext connects exhibitors with experts, decision-makers, and pioneers from all over the world, providing a unique platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and business deals.

Is There Anything for Consumers?

While a ticket price, from 69+ (early birds), might seem steep, it’s a worthwhile investment for those eager to stay at the forefront of the 3D printing industry. Formnext isn’t just a show; it’s a pivotal gathering where consumers, enthusiasts, start-ups, and small businesses can explore groundbreaking opportunities and witness the evolution of 3D printing firsthand. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this essential event and discover what’s next in the world of 3D printing!

For a number of years, the Formnext trade show has been held in four big halls. The ground floor (Halls 11.0 and 12.0) is typically dedicated mostly to heavy machinery and giant robotic arms. But in the 1st-floor halls (11.1 and 12.1), it is possible to find many exhibitors with a focus on the consumer market, featuring 3D printers, 3D scanners, laser engravers, innovative materials, services, and applications.

Getting lost in the four big halls and endless passages between them is very easy. We recommend using the Interactive Floor Plans and Search on their website in advance to navigate easily.

Highlights

Visiting Formnext in person is an unforgettable experience. But the trade show highlights can also be found everywhere on social media by following the #Formnext hashtags. On 白洁的性荡生活45章, we keep our events table updated with cherry-picked event highlights. These can be live videos by popular YouTubers or photo collections by niche influencers. To find a particular year’s highlights, use the table search.

Formnext 2025

Formnext 2025 reported 38,282 visitors and 804 exhibitors across roughly 50,000 m² of exhibition space. While the exhibitor count was slightly lower than in 2024 (864 exhibitors), visitor numbers grew noticeably compared to last year’s 34,404. This year, instead of publishing the usual infographic, the Formnext team released a full report summarizing the event’s key metrics and industry highlights. (Source: PR_Formnext2025_AM)

Toolchanger Technology Showdown

Snapmaker’s record-breaking 国产爆乳无码一区二区麻豆 campaign in August reignited interest in toolchanging technology to the point that Formnext 2025 delivered a genuine toolchanger showdown in Hall 12.1. We have never seen that hall so crowded. As Mikoláš Zuza noted on X, even he — as part of the Prusa3D team — struggled to get close to the newly launched machines.

It was great to talk to Blayne Sapelli at the Snapmaker booth and see the U1 in action. What a machine — both aesthetically and functionally. The featured prints, along with the printing speeds and material stats, were genuinely impressive.

Stress-Tested 3D Printed Shoes

This year, I decided to do something unusual: I brought a pair of Flux by PollyFab — resin 3D printed shoes — and tested them directly on the tradeshow floor. Coincidentally, Formnext had its own booth selling branded merchandise, including socks, which made the whole experiment even more fun. The shoes became a great conversation starter at almost every booth I visited.

Many exhibitors had 3D printed footwear, midsoles, or sole-support concepts on display. Here is just a small fraction of the 3D printed shoes I witnessed at Formnext 2025:

By the end of the show, I had gathered so much insight into 3D printed footwear that it’s more than enough to start an evergreen guide in our usual style. Big kudos to Andrew Sink from Carbon for showcasing their collection and explaining their developments in this rapidly evolving space.

3D Scanners Got Accessible

Thanks to several recent 国产爆乳无码一区二区麻豆 campaigns, the 3D scanning space has shifted once again. The technology is becoming increasingly accessible for consumers and small businesses, with many brands now offering scanners in the $300 to $4,000 range. On the Formnext floors, we saw a strong presence from companies pushing affordability and ease of use.

It was great to meet representatives from Revopoint3D and 3DMakerPro, whose standout products — TrackIt and Eagle — we featured on our website earlier this year. I also finally met Sienna, who patiently handled all my questions throughout the TrackIt evaluation process.

About Consumer Lasers, 民工把奶头吸得又大又长, and Resin Printing

While consumer and small-business laser cutters, 民工把奶头吸得又大又长 machines, and resin printers didn’t generate the same noise and crowd density as the FDM/toolchanger area this year, they were still well represented across the halls. TwoTrees, for example, had an impressive booth showcasing the TTC450 Pro, a machine we recently reviewed on our website.

Creality’s booth, however, felt like it had everything under one roof. Beyond their flagship multicolour FDM systems, they introduced the compact Falcon T1 laser engraver, demonstrated their increasingly sophisticated 3D scanners, and highlighted their sister company PioCreat, which displayed both consumer-grade and professional resin printers.

Creality also presented a full lineup of CubeMe creations — models generated with their online 3D generator on the CrealityCloud platform. It’s clear they are building a comprehensive ecosystem for makers. I’m genuinely pleased with the direction Creality is moving and look forward to seeing more disruptive innovations in the spirit of the original Ender-3, CR-10, CR-30 (3DPrintMill), and the K1  in the years ahead.

Meeting and chatting with Seth was the icing on the cake. We were literally sketching out a roadmap of future collaborations right there on the tradeshow floor — a perfect example of what makes Formnext so valuable: genuine connections with the brands shaping our industry.

As predicted, there was big news at the Formnext 2024 tradeshow. Traditionally, the Prusa Research team launches their product of the year right on or just before the tradeshow; this year was no exception. Everyone expected something, but what exactly was a big surprise. The Prusa CORE One, a fully enclosed CoreXY 3D printer, was unveiled directly at the tradeshow. This machine was instantly deemed as an answer to the Bambu Lab X1C machine. Let’s have a quick look at the Core One main features, why it was so well received, and discuss what happens next.

The Bambu Labs booth felt like a playground—my first impression was that it focused more on promoting their MakerWorld platform than the machines themselves. In 2024, MakerWorld, thanks to features including an AI model generator and, of course, popular 3D printers, rapidly grew to 10 million visits per month, according to SimilarWeb statistics.

This year, there was a notably strong presence of HueForge-type print/art. Spectacular, large-sized works gained popularity at the booths dedicated to 3D printing materials and desktop FDM 3D printers. These vibrant artworks showcased the expansive capabilities of modern 3D printing technology. 3D printers doesn’t have to be big. Well-known in the consumer 3D printing market, Elegoo was an exhibitor at Formnext for the first time, featuring both their FDM and resin desktop 3D printers. Their OrangeStorm Giga – their largest ever 3D printer – attracted a lot of attention, partially because of the ongoing popular 国产爆乳无码一区二区麻豆 campaign that in the end accumulated $3,386,996. Mass-producing such big printers caught the public by surprise and exposed previously unknown demands. At the show, the machine was printing a giant vase in vase mode, demonstrating its capability. Niche influencers took the opportunity to feature this product on their channels, driving even more attention to the product. Read more about the OrangeStorm Giga.

For those who want to get a sneak peek at the latest advancements in 3D printing technology in general, the Stratasys booth offered a lot of interesting examples. This year, the 3DFashion creations particularly caught my attention, demonstrating the implimentation of 3D printing technology in the fashion industry. Also, it was possible to witness the industrial-grade machine printing on the fabric live.

In the professional sector, Nexa3D showcased their latest range of ultrafast resin machines, featuring prints that demonstrate the remarkable capabilities of resin 3D printing. Their stackable prints effectively highlight the machines’ volume and the potential for batch printing.

In the industrial Hall 11.0 the star of the show was the ‘crawler transformer’ MaxiPrinter by Constructions-3D. Despite the ability to print high enough to build houses, this machine can be very compact and can be folded and moved around very quickly.

One of the most compelling advantages of trade shows like Formnext is the opportunity to witness products in action, with live demonstrations of technologies such as 3D printing and scanning being commonplace. At the 3DMakerPro booth, the team extended a warm invitation for me to have my face scanned, an offer I gladly accepted. The result was a fascinating glimpse into the capabilities of their scanning technology, providing me with an example on the spot.

In conclusion, I hope we have given you a glimpse of what can be seen at Formnext from a consumer and enthusiast’s perspective. Of course, the products or services we featured represent just a tiny part of the show. One of the best ways to discover what happened at Formnext is to scroll through the relevant #Formnext2023 live hashtag on Twitter, especially closer to the event dates. As usual, we will continue to mention what we saw at Formnext in our future articles as well.

Formnext 2022

When Formnext 2021 was the first post-pandemic tradeshow and some visitors stayed away, then Formnext 2022 was back to pre-COVID levels with 29,581 visitors attending compared to 17,859 in the last year. There have been around 200 more exhibitors compared to 2021. Please find the 2021 event statistics below. In the latest Formnext press release, it was announced that the event had a strong international flavor:
With attendees from 96 nations and a remarkably high proportion of international visitors (51%) and exhibitors (58%), Formnext once again demonstrated its status as the leading international trade fair for additive manufacturing and modern industrial production.

This year exhibitors were very creative in their booth presentations. And there will be no chance to feature all awesome setups and new products, so we have put together what caught our eye.

At such tradeshows, among other exciting products manufactured with the help of 3D printing, we often see all types of transportation. Scooters, bicycles, bikes, and even racing cars are usually featured with 3D printed elements.

Some stands had very elegant and functional 3D printed furniture. The especially nice setup was by YIZUMI, Germany. Futuristic shapes and designer curves combined with various materials and colors always attract visitors’ attention.

Such large-scale furniture and other elements were 3D printed mostly by big SCARA Robotic Arms. These machines were present in each hall, and sometimes the tradeshow resembled an episode from a Sci-Fi movie.

As for consumers, in halls 11.1 and 12.1, there were displays by such brands like Prusa3D, Snapmaker, Polymaker, Creality, and others. Prusa3D’s booth, which looked like a giant MK3 machine, was well liked by their community, fans, and influencers who kept their stand packed nearly nonstop. Snapmaker showcased their new Artisan 3D printer and it was possible to compare enclosures. Polymaker had a lot to show, a collection of colorful 3D printed ice cream and a giant spool were especially remarkable. Creality’s booth was not that flashy but displayed many of their well-known machines, including the budget Ender series.

One of the strongest advantages of the tradeshows like Formnext is the possibility to meet in person people you know. I had an opportunity to meet Andrew Sink in person after two years of close collaboration. Andrew traveled with Carbon to Germany where they featured their platform, launched new materials and showcased a 3D printer.

It is fair to mention that the highlights we offered this year won’t even cover the tip of the iceberg. There is still so much to cover, with particular announcements worth being featured in separate articles. We will mention what we saw at Formnext in other articles as well.

Formnext 2021

The 2021 Formnext event held in Frankfurt, Germany, was a resounding success, with 606 exhibitors taking part, 50% of them international. More than 17K visitors attended this tradeshow. The event was held in compliance with the COVID rules and featured a wide range of safety measures, including temperature checks, mask wearing, and social distancing. The event was a great opportunity for businesses to reconnect and network with each other, as well as showcase their latest products and innovations. It was great to witness such a successful event, with COVID still fresh on everyone’s mind. Formnext is definitely poised to continue being a leading player in the 3D printing industry for years to come.

Formnext 2020 – Virtual Edition

The trade show was scheduled to take place in Frankfurt, Germany, in November 2020. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the physical event has been canceled. This marks the first time in its nine-year history that Formnext has been canceled. The decision was made by the organizers after consulting with local authorities and health experts. While the pandemic has put a halt to many physical events, the organizers of Formnext held a virtual conference on November 10-12. While this was disappointing news for those of us who were looking forward to attending the event in person, the organizers have stated that the virtual conference would still offer an opportunity to learn about the latest advances in additive manufacturing and be the platform for networking with industry peers.

Formnext 2019

That year Formnext demonstrated massive growth, even compared to 2018. This trade show now spreads over 2 large halls on 4 floors. This means that Formnext occupies twice larger space compared to 2017 with 3-times as many exhibitors. It further gained 1,200 sq.m. in additional space since 2018. In the final press release, it was announced that over 34.5 thousand specialists and managers visited the grounds in 2019.

What strikes this time is the ever-growing presence of personal/desktop machine manufacturers of all sizes. The legacy of Formnext lies with big industrial bodies with the likes of HP and GE, and of course, the “grandfathers” of 3D printing, Stratasys, and 3D Systems. This year I stumbled across Phrozen with a small but nice-looking booth. The common tune among the exhibitors that I hear is that the main bulk of their business comes from Formnext. This is the place where deals are sealed and new valuable contacts are found.

The quality of attendees remains very relevant to all, no matter how big or small they are. Usually, at regional events, only local managers can be found. Formnext, however, is attended by the C-suite HQ management, this is why this is the place to be if you want to secure new business.

Conclusion

Formnext is one of the most important events in the 3D printing industry, and it is clear that the technology has come a long way in recent years. The ability to print customized bespoke items on demand has revolutionized manufacturing. The need for revamping the supply chain and to bring manufacturing closer to home has made 3D printing more attractive for traditional manufacturers who started adopting this technology in different spheres and stages of their production. And of course, meeting people in person always does its magic. It shows commitment and increases the trust between partners.

How Does it Work

As a rule, such deals are short-term campaigns and become outdated at some point after publishing. We will keep this list updated. If the deal is past date, then it is most likely that this offer is gone or replaced with a newer, different offer. Worth trying to check out anyway.

Marketing – Creating Urgency

Often, awesome offers come back on the market in a matter of weeks. However, the recent issues with transportation, lockdowns, and chip shortages greatly affected the availability of certain products, and there were cases when a product was sold out and not available for months (Elegoo Mars 3) or an order fulfillment delay of 4-6 weeks was a normal occurrence (Prusa Printers).

How to Find Deals

Black Friday and Cyber Monday:

– Timing: Occurring in late November, these days are known for huge discounts across various categories.
– Strategy: Prepare a list of desired 3D printer models in advance and compare prices across multiple retailers.
– Alerts: Sign up for email alerts from tech and 3D printing websites for real-time deal notifications.

Christmas Deals
Christmas Deals

Prime Day and Holiday Sales:

– Amazon Prime Day: Exclusive to Amazon Prime members, this mid-year event offers substantial discounts.
– Valentine’s Day, Halloween Sales: Look for thematic promotions; some retailers offer tech and electronics deals during these holidays.
– Preparation: Mark your calendar and check for early deals or pre-sale announcements.

Back to School 3D Printer Deals
Back to School Deals

Manufacturer Websites:

– Direct Discounts: Manufacturers sometimes offer exclusive deals, bundles, or new product promotions not available elsewhere.
– Clearance Sales: End-of-life models or refurbished printers often go on sale on official websites.
– Newsletter Sign-Up: Many manufacturers send exclusive offers or early access to sales to their subscribers.

Halloween 3D Printer Deals

Online Marketplaces

– Amazon, eBay, and AliExpress: Regularly feature discounts on various 3D printer models.
– Flash Sales: Look out for limited-time offers which often provide the best deals.
– Seller Ratings: Pay attention to seller ratings and reviews to ensure you’re buying from a reputable source.

Newsletters and Social Media:

– Newsletters: Subscribing to newsletters from 3D printing companies can grant you access to subscriber-only deals.
– Social Media Follows: Companies often announce flash sales, discount codes, or special offers on their social media platforms.
– Community Groups: Join 3D printing groups on platforms like Facebook or Reddit for tips on where to find the best deals shared by community members.

Additional Tips:

– Price Comparison Tools: Use online tools to compare prices across different platforms.
– Set Price Alerts: Tools like CamelCamelCamel for Amazon can notify you when a product drops to your desired price.
– Check for Bundles: Sometimes, buying a printer with filaments or accessories as a bundle can be more cost-effective.
– Read the Fine Print: Ensure you understand the warranty, return policy, and shipping costs before making a purchase.

国产爆乳无码一区二区麻豆 Campaigns

Another way to get the best deal is to support 民工把奶头吸得又大又长 campaigns and secure an Early Bird price. 3D printers are niche products and not yet fully plug-and-play, as certain skills are required to operate the machines. Therefore, launching a new, technologically raw, product with an affordable consumer price tag is a tricky business. And we witnessed in the past how big companies used such platforms as a pre-order base. Some campaigns worked well for everyone, and others did not.

Disclaimer: 民工把奶头吸得又大又长 campaigns – before taking part in any campaign as a backer, please read T&Cs. Rewards aren’t guaranteed.

Conclusion

By utilizing these strategies, you can effectively navigate through various sales and promotional events to find the best deals on 3D printers. Remember, a good deal is not just about the lowest price but also about getting the best value for your investment. Happy Deal Hunting!

Each year, the TCT Awards ceremony brings together some of the brightest minds in additive manufacturing. Hosted during the TCT 3Sixty show in Birmingham, UK, this black-tie event is a rare blend of industry recognition and elegant celebration. It’s where groundbreaking innovations meet the people and stories behind them.

This guide takes you inside the TCT Awards experience, exploring why the awards matter, what makes the event memorable, and why it’s worth attending, whether you’re an engineer, designer, startup, or member of the media.

A Black-Tie Event in 3D Printing

While many tech events lean toward casual or corporate atmospheres, the TCT Awards embrace something different — a formal evening that elevates the status of the industry. From the tuxedos and evening gowns to the ambient lighting and elegant dinner service, the event feels more like a gala than a trade show extension.

Award Categories and What They Represent

The TCT Awards span a wide range of categories that reflect the depth and diversity of the 3D printing and additive manufacturing landscape – from hardware and software to materials and end-use applications.

TCT Award Categories
TCT Award Categories

Rather than listing them all here, we recommend visiting the official TCT Awards website, where you can find a comprehensive breakdown of categories, nominees, and winners.

Additionally, there were notable recognitions, including the SMF Rising Star Award and the TCT Women in 3D Printing Innovator Award.

Why Awards Matter in the 3D Printing Industry

In a rapidly evolving space like additive manufacturing, recognition isn’t just about prestige — it’s about visibility, credibility, and inspiration. Award ceremonies like the TCT Awards:

– Highlight breakthrough applications that drive the industry forward.
– Give emerging companies a platform to stand out among giants.
– Encourage excellence and innovation across software, hardware, materials, and services.
– Unite the community, offering a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate.

For finalists, even making the shortlist can open doors to partnerships, press, and customer trust.

These relaxed yet focused conversations often spark new partnerships, media opportunities, and future projects. The blend of formal recognition and informal networking makes the evening not just memorable but genuinely valuable for those looking to deepen their industry relationships.

Tip: Bring business cards, prepare your elevator pitch, and don’t skip the red-carpet-style photo zones.

Photo Moments & Atmosphere

The backdrop branding, stage setup, and lighting make it ideal for professional photography. Many attendees use the event as an opportunity to boost visibility on LinkedIn and industry media platforms. The official photos typically follow a few days later and are widely shared across social media and company press releases.

How to Attend or Get Involved

There are multiple ways to engage with the TCT Awards:
Nominate your product, application, or team.
Attend as a guest or sponsor.
Join the TCT 3Sixty show, which runs alongside the event.

Follow along via social media or media coverage (白洁的性荡生活45章 included!).

Even if you’re not nominated, the event is open to industry professionals and provides a great night of networking.

Final Thoughts

The TCT Awards aren’t just a night of celebration — they’re a reflection of where the industry is heading. For those involved in 3D printing and AM, it’s a chance to step out of the workshop and onto the stage, if only for one evening.

So after many years of successful Sharefests across the world, from USA to Australia, the United Kingdom finally was given the chance to experience this, and I was not going to miss the opportunity to attend the celebration – and it really didn’t disappoint.

Having reviewed several Creality products over the years on my 3DPUK Tech YouTube channel, here on 白洁的性荡生活45章, and having been invited to share my thoughts in a number of Creality anniversary video events, this event adds to my ever-growing exposure to the Creality brand itself, which seems to be growing in popularity once more.

Creality’s event aimed at bringing the 3D printing community together across the United Kingdom to both celebrate the brand and to showcase the new lineups available.

Networking & Presentations

A selection of refreshments was available at the back of the room – plus time to interact with 3D printing enthusiasts and Creality brand experts. The atmosphere was informal and relaxed.

The event kicked off with a number of presentations from the Creality team. We were also introduced to Greensticks, a partner brand, who shared a brief overview of their offering.

Speeches and Presentations
Speeches and Presentations

We then learned more about the main interactive part of the evening:
A voting contest for the best 3D printed model, displayed on the left side of the room.
Each guest received a ballot to vote.

Prizes & Giveaways

After about an hour of free time to mingle and browse the machines, the event concluded with a prize ceremony.
Awards were given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the model contest:

* 1st Prize: Creality Hi Combo Unit
* 2nd Prize: Creality Space Pi Plus Filament Dryer
* 3rd Prize and others: various prizes including dryers, filaments, t-shirts, hoodies, and gift bags

Each attendee had also received a raffle ticket during registration – these were drawn at random for additional prize giveaways throughout the night.

I was lucky to win something myself — as you can see below!

Final Thoughts

The entire event was an amazing experience – and the first of its kind in the UK. It ended with a thank-you message from the Creality team and a promise of more events to come in the future.

From my perspective, it’s definitely an event that shouldn’t be missed by any 3D printing enthusiast.

Thanks again, Creality, for the invitation!

3D Printing Conventions and Conferences

General tech events, like CES in Las Vegas or GITEX in Dubai, are essentially global conventions. They draw together businessmen, engineers and the curious from all over the world. At such conventions and associated conferences, the real-life experience exchange in technology innovation takes place.

With the 3D printing industry going strong in the past two decades, we see more and more AM manufacturers taking part in such conventions and conferences.

Meetups at 3D Printing Events

Every community has its own leaders and celebrities. So does 3D printing community. It is a good chance to meet a YouTuber, for example, whose channel you are subscribed to and following most of the tutorials, reviews or other entertaining videos. In some cases, you can get a sticker or a selfy picture with them.

What to do if you are unable to visit an event? No worries, the dedicated 3D printing community members often share their experience with others. You can follow them on social media such as Twitter or YouTube where they often share it live.

If you are unable to watch a video but want to be updated live, then we would recommend following a particular hashtag on Twitter on Instagram like #CES, #TCT3Sixty, Formnext, #RapidTCT #ERRF, SMRRF, etc.

Here, you can find 30-day challenges related to 3D design or 3D printing that are about to start, are ongoing, or have happened in the past. 30 Days – Is It Enough to Improve Designing Skills?

According to participants, yes, but not directly. You won’t wake up as a PRO after 30 days. Such challenges make a big push towards change of behaviour. In this case, designing daily, open-mindedly / creatively, day by day, results in turning the process into routine. When routine is established, be it writing, drawing, designing, or anything else, perfection will come with experience.

A study 中文+日韩+欧美电影 in the European Journal of Social Psychology found that the length of time it takes for a new behavior to become automatic varies from 18 days to 254 days. The more difficult the behavioral change was perceived, the longer it took for the habit to form.
Source: EASP
According to scientists, behavior change comes approximately after 66 days. The bigger the behavioral change, the longer it will take and vice versa. As for learning the skills in 3D design, if you have already designed a model or two, then it should be easier for you to add a 3D designing routine into your daily life after such as 30 day challenges. Advanced design skills will come with experience.

Social Media Role in 30 Day Challenges

Social media attention and light competition apparently help with this challenge. It has the same effect as going to the gym, either with friends or alone. Partly, it’s because of social media exposure, increasing the following base, etc.

Here is what 3D designers say about 30 day challenges:
Tessa (SparkyFace5): I enjoy sharing with the community and seeing what other people are creating. I also think it’s a great thing to help develop momentum and to get away from perfectionism. It’s a little win each day to produce something new.
Jason (PrintThatThing: I enjoy creating with a global community and challenging myself out of my comfort zone.
Chelsey (CaosCoreTech): What I like most about the sculptober challenge is that it forces you to be more creative, and make a quick decision and just go with it. You don’t have a lot of time to over think what you are going to do when you are trying to finish a model a day!

Sculptober Chomp by Chelsey (ChaosCoreTech) - 3D Designed in ZBrush
Chomp by Chelsey (ChaosCoreTech) – All Sculptober models are available on Patreon
(Image: Chelsey)

Ben (Follygon): For me, Sculptober is the way to get back into the creative mindset with extra fun.

The best way to follow such 30-day challenges is to follow special hashtags on X and Instagram. If X is good for interacting with creators and sharing their masterpieces, then Instagram works well as a gallery. For example, we quickly found 100+ entries of Gjinn on Day 8 of the Sculptober 2020 challenge on Instagram.
To make it more accessible for challenge followers (viewers), we would suggest promoting the idea to tag each day separately: like #sculptober1 #sculptober2 #sculptober3, etc. (Just an idea)

The Best Time for 30 Day Challenges for Designers

According to our observations, the best months for 30-day challenges for designers are October and January. If January challenges kick off together with all sorts of New Year resolutions, then October is the second month of the academic year, which comes after September, the warm-up month.
In the 3D printing community, October is designers’ month indeed. Just briefly scanning social media we found Inktober, Pixeltober, Sculptober, Blendtober, and Scantober, etc. There may be more…

Types of 30 Day Challenges

3D Printing – #printober

Printober, or with any ending after “Print”, is not a challenge this year, but just a hashtag on social media. However, we see some potential in turning it into a nice challenge at some point.

CONS: It is harder to organize such a challenge and justify it, as plastic prints and failures may quickly become excessive waste that is bad for our environment.
PROS: The 3D Print 30-day challenge could help participants gain slicer software skills, for example, and test the endurance of 3D printers (torture test).

(Image: SparkyFace5)

3D Scanning – #scantober

The results from 3D scans can, in most cases, be further edited in 3D design software and later 3D printed. Andrew Sink encourages participants to participate in the Scantober challenge. We are curious to see how it will turn out this year, and we hope that next year, this initiative will have a great resonance.

Software Focused Challenge – #blendtober (Blender3D)

Similar to Sculptober but completed in Blender 3D software specifically. Blender users can freely add the second hashtag together with #sculptober. On Instagram, the Blendtober hashtag has 150+ entries, Sculptober has 7K+ (at the moment of writing this post).

Design Shuffler – Idea Generator

design idea generator, Design Shuffler, is a great tool for refuelling inspiration or for 30 days or more challenges. Instead of procrastinating and thinking about what to design, this tool helps you get into the process quicker. We wrote a detailed review of the shuffler and explained how to use it.
