It would take me a bit of time to properly test this, but I did come across a detailed post on the Snapmaker forum that covers PCB engraving with a 2W IR laser:

From what I’ve seen, it does work but with limitations and very slow speeds. I suspect the default settings won’t be enough, so it likely needs some manual tweaking.

Can you try engraving on PCB? Snapmaker shows this in one of their videos but the default settings won’t do anything for me and they haven’t responded to any requests for settings.

First, I changed the setting in Luban: Settings → Machine Settings → Laser Module → 2W Laser Module (the default was 10W). Then I used the default settings:

Material: Black PLA
Method: Fill
Movement Mode: Dot
Fill Interval: 0.16 mm
Jog Speed: 8000 mm/min
Dwell Time: 5 ms/dot
Laser Power: 30%

What settings did you use for the image on the black PLA? My images are all blown out when I try.
